Sorry but how can I find a slime chunk in mcpe?

Slimes spawning correctly in a slime chunk in 0.15.1 :

Comment by [Mojang] Mega_Spud (Jay Wells) [ 10/Jun/16 ]

Example:

The slimes spawn here from the slime spawner when it is dark enough, so evidently it's a slime chunk*. However, when you remove the slime spawner, no slimes will spawn naturally, regardless of light level, or moon phase.

*I don't think it's a swamp biome as a) the water is not coloured when placed and b) I don't think the flat worlds have biome differentiation.

depressed-pho There are definitely slime chunks in MCPE, slime farms set below level 40 work fairly well in the slime chunks.

I think the issue is that in Flat worlds, the Slimes should be spawning much more readily than they do, as the whole world is set just a few blocks above bedrock. Slimes should be spawning in the relevant chunks, and should be easily spotted as they aren't hidden in caves.

One way to find slime chunks in a flat world is to exploit the bug MCPE-8560: By placing lots of slime spawners across a large area spanning several chunks, the slimes should only spawn in the slime chunks. Once the slime chunks have been discovered, they should spawn there without a slime spawner in place. (Hope that makes sense!)

DD3 Gamer, the reason why they don't spawn in flat worlds is that they can only spawn in swamp biomes. Unlike the PC version, MCPE doesn't have the concept of slime chunks. It's an intentional difference.

But on the pc they spawn in flats worlds but on minecraft pocket edition 0.15 b2 not

Not at me

Slimes spawned naturally in 0.15.0 b2

More information about how and when slimes can spawn

Comment by Davide Garberi [ 09/Jun/16 ]

in 0.15 slimes don't spawn neither in flat worlds

As of 0.14.0 - I think the magma cubes are spawning properly now, but the slime spawn rate still seems to be a bit low in a very large area below level 40 across several chunks.

"Slimes only spawn in slime chunks under Y 40"

We don';t have access to coordinates so how would we know which chunks are slime chunks + what is under Y:40.... (okay that was a bit smart a**)

I have used an online tool to discover which chunks should be slime chunks (if MCPE uses the same algo as MCPC) and I have made spawnable areas in these chunks below Y=40 and I have not seen any slimes. I have hollowed out 5x5 chunks (that is 5*16 x 5*16) with the idea that MCPE might use a slightly diff algo. Still no slimes.

Furthermore I've played a LOT of MCPE. I have never ever, not even once in all that time seen a single slime in survival mode. Nada.

It seems very very unlikely to me that slime spawning is working as intended.

I didn't see any slime in caves or swamp biomes since 0.12.1 beta. Why the bug's status says "resolved"?

This issue works as intended. If you have a request for Minecraft Pocket Edition, please go to the Minecraft Forums -> MCPE: Suggestions.

Slimes only spawn in slime chunks under Y:40

Comment by Giovanni C. [ 18/Oct/15 ]

Yes,it also affects 0.12.2

Comment by Luis Robles [ 17/Oct/15 ]

Does this bug still affects 0.12.2?, if so, please reply.

Slimes and magma cubes aren't spawning properly in my world, I've opened a huge area at one block above bedrock and haven't seen any slimes yet.
Also, I've only seen one magma cube in a nether fortress. I'm playing on maximum difficulty on Win 10 edition , 0.12.1

I didn't saw any slime or bat in 0.12.1 beta

Do slimes spawn naturally in survival in 0.12? If so, where?

Comment by tommo [ 24/Jul/14 ]

We're closing all issues only related to 0.6, 0.7 or snapshots of any version.

If you think that this issues applies to MCPE 0.9.5 or later, please comment here!

Slimes only spawn in caves and don't spawn above ground unless you are on super flat mode.
