 Description

Placing a Birch Log into a furnace while having normal logs in your inventory will not decrement the number of Birch Logs from your inventory. Removing the Birch Log while having another type of Log in your inventory will also remove one normal log and increment the number of Birch Logs.

I have 7 Birch Logs and 5 Normal logs. I place 1 Birch Log into the furnace. My personal inventory reflects no change; I still have 7 Birch Logs and 5 Normal Logs. Removing the Birch Log from the top slot of the Furnace removes 1 Normal Log from my inventory, and increases my Birch Logs by 1. Transversly, placing 1 Normal Log into the top slot of the furnace works as one would expect. 1 Normal Log is taken from my inventory. When removing the Normal Log from the top slot of the Furnace, is it successfully placed back into my Inventory.

This has actually been fixed in 0.11 the same problem occurred with wood. we now check for item-data.

Comment by Katten [ 02/Mar/15 ]

Can confirm for 0.10.4 on iPhone 6 plus (iOS 8.1.3). Explanation: items can added to a fuel slot already containing a different fuel, as long as both fuels have the same decimal value. For example, charcoal (DV 263:1) will convert to coal (DV 263:0) if placed in a fuel slot already containing coal.
I have tested this with coal/charcoal, oak/jungle/spruce/birch logs, acacia/dark oak logs, and all fences and saplings.

Cleaning up all the old issues - please reply if this affects 0.9.3.

Shh dont tell them. this bug is good now we dont have to worry about collecting them individually. This bug is good for making a mansion faster.

This is still an issue as of version 0.8.3 alpha.

I tested this literally 5 minutes ago on my Samsung galaxy note 2 running Android 4.3.

Put birch logs as the ingredient in a furnace (top slot), then click oak logs. An oak log will be removed from your inventory and a birch log will be added to the ingredient slot of the furnace.

No need to be sorry. You're reporting your experience honestly.

Test the procedure I gave in my post from the 30th of May above. It's easier to follow/verify, with explicit steps.

Weird, because i tested in on my iPod Touch 5g, and the furnace works well. so, if you are saying that isnt fixed for Android yet, this issue has to be reopenned and you have to update the affected versions. Sorry Kevin

Comment by Kevin Anderson [ 08/Jan/14 ]

No it isn't fixed. The Coal/Charcoal Transmute that I describe in my comment above from 0.61 on Android still exists on 0.8.1 on Android. I just tested it 2 minutes ago, where charcoal goes into the slot that was 100% coal and "becomes" part of the stack of coal. As does the wood transmute I describe.

Comment by Luis Robles [ 08/Jan/14 ]

Now fixed in the 0.8.x versiosn

Comment by Shay [ 08/Sep/13 ]

Still an issue as of v0.7.5 alpha.

Comment by Kevin Anderson [ 03/Sep/13 ]

Still an issue as of 0.7.4.

Comment by Kumasasa [ 03/Sep/13 ]

Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version 0.7.4 ? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.

Comment by Kevin Anderson [ 10/Jun/13 ]

Still an issue as of 0.7.1. Please edit in order to indicate this.

I can confirm that as of 0.61 on Android that this bug still exists.

It is also worth mentioning that the linked bug, MCPE-398 also still exists in "changing" the type of fuel, so even though it's resolved, some type of bug still exists.

How it works for me is the following:

Coal/Charcoal transmute:

  1. Open up the furnace
  2. Tap the "fuel" section and put in one or more coal (works with just 1, or more).
  3. With the fuel still selected, tap in one or more charcoal.
  4. The count of fuel will increment.
  5. Tap the fuel, and all of the count will return to your inventory as coal, not split between coal and charcoal.
I believe this works both ways. It only matters whatever the FIRST fuel to go in was.

Wood bug(s):

  1. Have multiple stacks of wood in your inventory of different types before you start, such as one stack of oak, and one stack of birch.
  2. Open up the furnace and ensure there is no fuel (can be fueled too, but for simplicity of testing, have it empty).
  3. Tap the "item" section and tap the "first" (starting from the top-left) stack of wood in your inventory to put one or more into the item section.
  4. Tap another type of wood in your inventory to put "more" into the item box.
  5. The count will increment in the item box, but it will not pull from your 2nd stack, but still from the first as you tap the 2nd stack.
  6. Clear the item box.
  7. Tap the second stack of wood to put one or more into the item box.
  8. Tap the first stack of wood to put one or more into the item box.
  9. The count of the first wood will decrement, and the item box increment, but with the SECOND type of the wood.
  10. Tap the item box to return the wood to your inventory. All of the wood returned will be of the 2nd type, essentially "transmuting" the wood types.

I hope this is detailed enough to reproduce easily.

When you have for example: 15 Birch Wood logs and 15 Oak Wood logs, you can make it all Birch Wood logs, or Oak Wood logs.
Click the furnace. Hold your finger on the type of wood you want to duplicate so you put everything in the furnace, and boom, all your logs are now the logs you put in the furnace! (The birch wood is gone, it merged with the normal wood).

From my old bug report: https://mojang.atlassian.net/browse/MCPE-846

Comment by Luis Robles [ 28/Feb/13 ]

I understood....
So, if you have two types of blocks, and when you select one wood to be burned in the furnace, the type of wood will be selected randomly, like for example, if i select the brown wood, sometimes it selects the birch wood...
