 Description

Player can swim in the air under certain conditions.

To reproduce:

  • Dig a hole in the ground, 2 blocks deep, and fill with water.
  • Dig four holes, one at each diagonally adjacent block to the water, 3 blocks deep.
  • Get in each of the four holes and try to run towards the water. Nothing will happen in 3 of them; in the other one you'll swim up through the air out of the hole (it only works in one direction).

For this to work, the air hole should be no more than one block deeper than the water hole, and the water hole must be sealed by solid blocks on all sides.

This ticket is duplicated by MCPE-5197, which I commented on previously. My comment is as follows:

Can confirm for 0.10.4 on iPhone 6 plus (iOS 8.1.3). Explanation: water, both still and flowing, affects players and mobs through corners touching the water blocks (as shown in the images). This activates the bubble particle effects & water sounds, along with decreasing fall damage & allowing players and mobs to swim upwards (though without any resistance). Water fog and the oxygen meter are not activated.
I have tested this with most solid blocks, including slabs, stairs, & leaves, and have found it consistent. I also noticed that this only occurs on the northeast corner of the water, assuming the direction of the sun/moon rise is east.

Please reopen, as this issue still affects 0.10.4 and 0.11.0 (Beta Build 2, see MCPE-8199).

Coordinates bug; the folder for the coordinates somehow mixes up the X/Z coordinates and thinks the player is inside the water. If you turn your sound on, you may be able to hear the water sounds.

Lol I used this bug to trick my sister that the player is spiderman
