[MCPE-4338] Mobs draw distance greater than stone. Creates x-ray vision Created: 17/Jun/13  Updated: 07/May/15  Resolved: 09/Jan/14

Status: Resolved
Project: Minecraft (Bedrock codebase)
Component/s: None
Affects Version/s: 0.7.1
Fix Version/s: 0.8.0

Type: Bug
Reporter: John A.
Resolution: Fixed Votes: 1
Labels: rendering

Game Mode: Survival
Confirmation Status: Unconfirmed
Platform: Tablet - iOS - iPad Mini

 Description

Put the summary of the bug you're having here

What I expected to happen was...:
Mobs inside a stone building would not be visible

What actually happened was...:
I can see mobs through the stone

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Create a stone building without windows. In my case a mob grinder about 30 blocks above ground

2. Move away from the building. When you are just past the draw distance for the building, the stone is no longer visible but the enclosed mobs can be seen.

3. The effect is more pronounced when viewing the area from near the edge of the screen.

Now its fixed in 0.8.x versions with the new options of render distances

This actually shouldn't be happening
Mobs should disappear at rougly halfway of the rendering distance, I'll look at it.

This is working as intended, because the render distance you are using is the longest you can set in the option menu.

Confirmed. I see spiders in my cobblestone tower that doesn't have any openings.

The same thing happens with paintings.
