 Description

I've been playing the same survival map for well over 24 human hours. Sometimes in peaceful mode, sometimes not. I originally killed all the animals, especially the sheep since I didn't have a bed or sheers, or because the wool was white and I wanted a respawn for other colours. They never came back. Cows/Chickens/Sheep/Pigs - I have 0 of them! I've tried closing/restarting the game, no luck. I have iOS6, FYI.

Reported again on 0.5.0/iOS in MCPE-816. Can't confirm or deny on that platform; not reopening this as MCPE-816 is not verifiable (no world attached).

true' I have killed all my animals in one of my maps and now my only mobs are hostile :C

If you kill a cow, it will spawn a random* animal (*Mob types have different probabilities). The rules aren't that direct though, but rather; if you free up enough "animal slots", a bunch of of a certain type will spawn. I've begun looking at this bug anyway.

What are you rules for animal respawn? If you kill a cow, should it spawn another cow? Or does it spawn a random animal? The map i've been playing for the past 20hrs (seed: rainbow connection) started with a lot of cows. I killed all the cows/pigs for food, and currently have 13 sheep and 7 chickens. No cows/pigs. Is that normal?

Thanks for the awesome description. There where actually several bugs that made this happen and I still have at least one left to fix.

As a test (to make sure it wasn't iOS6 related), I created another survival map (friendly) with seed name 1234567890. I killed all the animals on the map. Within 20 mins of walking around, a new batch of animals started spawning. So it's clear to me that there is something weird on seed "palace" which prevents animals from respawning. I hope you're able to find the problem, so I can resume playing "palace" map when the next update is released

I'm going to check this out today.

I just started a new survival level with seed name = "palace" on an iPad2 (friendly mode on). I immediately killed 4 sheep, 3 cows, 6 pigs, 3 chickens. I then swam to the other side of the map and killed 2 more sheep. That's all the animals. I've walked around the entire map 3 more times in 30 mins, and so far have not encountered another animal. Do you know the rules and timings for animal respawn? I really hope this can be fixed, I put so many hours into this map.

FYI, I created it with the seed name "palace" which was a map I saw listed on "Minecraft Seeds Pro" iOS app in the "creations" list. I got the same map, but without Palace he made.

More than a few dozen times. I would estimate that a good 50% of it is water. There's a dense strip down 1 edge of the map, and another strip down the opposite side (so a massive river running down the middle). It's a very flat map, i've explored every inch of dirt, and even ran through all parts of the water.

Have you tried exploring you entire map?
