 Description

Update by Mega_Spud:
Summary:
Magma blocks make the area around them darker than other blocks do.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Place a grass block down and observe the shadow
  2. Now place a magma block down in the same position and observe the shadow again

Observed Results:
Notice how the shadow cast by the Magma block is noticeably different to the grass block

Expected Results:
It should not cast a darker shadow.

Screenshots/Videos attached: Yes

Notes:

Original Description:
In the wiki it says that magma blocks are supposed to emit a light level of 3 but instead it makes the area around it a bit dark

Cannot reproduce in 1.2.3.6 on Windows 10. As expected, the magma block's shadow was lighter for me near the limit of the torch light.

Details do not go unnoticed by users... xD

I can't tell what the light level is on MCPE or Windows 10 and not sure how to get that information for those two editions. And yes I own Java as well.

Coyt415: No that's a known bug in Java. Not a feature.

But it should hold the light level when a torch is placed on it and then subsequently removed from the magma block. I have before and after screenshots showing that the Magma block doesn't do so. The darker screenshot is the after screenshot the one with the torch already on the Magma block itself is the before screenshot. I tested it a couple times before submitting the screenshots.

vegito72: No, a light source of level 3 should only increase the light level of the area around it up to 3 when it's darker than 3. It should not decrease the level.

Hostile mobs start spawning at light level 7, so I believe this works as intended

Please don't tag this bug in version 1.1.2.50. Magma block are release at version 1.1.3.0
