 Description

Minecraft PE won't open. When we click on it it goes to a black screen for a few seconds and then back to the home screen.
We have uninstalled and reinstalled several times.
I cleared cache and data.
I did a force stop a dozen times.
I deleted a bunch of apps to free up storage.
I made sure all apps were closed.
I searched the issues but have not found a fix.

Minecraft still will not start. Please fix asap. It was working fine a few days ago. We did not update the app or the tablet. There are no updates even available.

Have you tried a full reinstall of the game?

Backup any data you don't want to lose, then try the following:

  1. Backup your MinecraftWorlds folder (if you want to save your worlds) (Device storage > games > com.mojang > minecraftWorlds)
  2. Uninstall MCPE
  3. Delete the com.mojang folder (Device storage > games > com.mojang)
  4. Reinstall MCPE
  5. Run MCPE and if it works restore your MinecraftWorlds folder

Sometimes a clean install of the game will help with these kind of issues.

Please back up any data you wish to keep and uninstall then reinstall the game. You might find following links helpful:

Also, please check that your system drivers are all up to date before reporting back.
