On mcpe minecraft crashes on Amazon fire 3rd gen and says the Amazon app store failed when minecraft is a offline/sometimes online game

I can confirm this an issue with 1.1.4 as well.

This is still a problem in update 1.1.2

Edit: The Xbox live account workaround did fix this, but I don't really want my daughter having this turned on all the time, so a proper fix would be nice.

My son is having the same issue. 3 gb free space. Have uninstalled and reinstalled, force stopped, cleared data and cache, and did a factory reset. Nothing has helped. I did manage to log him into a shared game with me on my Samsung Galaxy s5 active. It worked, but crashes upon exit. Game doesn't work without wifi and the shared game. It still crashes even then, just not everytime. It didn't have any problems until the 1.1 update. Really hate this. Please put out a patch or update ASAP. Thanks.

It appears to need you logged in to the Xbox live account, though. While it works temporarily when you're logged out the original problems recur after a period of time (overnight, say). So at the moment it's forcing you to have an Xbox live account. I also don't know whether it will be possible to play outside of wifi range.

I can confirm that Riccardo's workaround works here. Hopefully the Minecraft team can make this work without having an Xbox live account.

This update has also caused this problem for my daughter's Kindle edition of mcpe. It bombed out to the carousel, on play, or trying to go to storage settings.

I may have a workaround but it's kind of kooky. I saw a similar sort of crash being caused by an Xbox live login issue (reported on youtube). My daughter doesn't have an account, but assuming a link, I set up a dummy Xbox live account and logged in through mcpe.
No crashes. I logged out again and still no crashes. So, fingers crossed...

I'm assuming that the update has a glitch relating to Xbox live login, which logging in properly solves.

I am a newbie here, but same problem. Have 6 GB free. Updated with the discovery update, we think, every time we press Play it crashes. I have a very unhappy family. someone please fix this

I also have this problem.
Initially I was getting the crash when clicking the play button, or going to Storage Options.

I deleted all my worlds, and now I only get it when I try to create a new world.

Also using Kindle Fire HD (2nd generation)

Clicking Play on the main screen works for me but MCPE crashes before entering the game. I can click "Play", then "Create New", "Generate Random", and on the Create New World screen, with default settings, clicking "Play" crashes.

Interestingly, I can get into Settings -> Storage without a problem

Experiencing the same problem. Kindle Fire HD running 7.5.1 Has 16 gigs, with 3 gigs free.

Same problem happens inside and outside of the FreeTime app.

Uninstalling and reinstalling doesn't help.

It opens to the initial screen, but when you press "play" it crashes and exits. Interestingly, you can open settings, and click on all the options except "Storage." When you click on "Storage." it crashes and exits.
