 Description

I'm on an Android Galaxy S6, but the bug is also present on my laptop running windows 10 edition.

TL;DR: After travelling far from spawn, my minecraft world freezes for 1-2 seconds at a time, exactly once every 30 seconds.

I've been playing in one specific world of minecraft for quite a while, through many updates.
Recently, I traveled a long way from spawn (by travelling one direction in the nether and then making a gate) and then made a portal, walking back to spawn in the overworld. Just straight running in the overworld took around 30 minutes to return to spawn. My world size increased to 140-150 MB from around 80-90 MB.

Ever since this, my world consistently lags for around 1-2 seconds every 30 seconds. The time is completely predictable.

I copied the world to my laptop running the Windows 10 edition and experienced the same problem.

Playing as a client on the other device while not hosting causes the freeze on the hosting device, but not the client device.

The lag is completely unaffected by visual settings.

I'm not sure how acceptable this is, but given the size of the world file, I have shared it from my google drive as I am unable to attach it here.

I haven't timed it to see if the time is exactly 30 seconds, but I just recently decided to take a trip to a woodland mansion for the first time ever and am now experiencing sharp lag events on a regular basis. I'm back in my base and no longer traveling around, but the lag is a permanent fixture at this point it seems. Exploring too much of the world seems to break it permanently. I had played this particular world for weeks without exploring much and never had any issue. Since the woodland mansion discovery trip I really can't play it anymore.

They are likely related but this behavior to me is extremely specific in that's it's exactly every 30 seconds on the dot, and is related entirely to the size of the world and it hits even if you aren't moving.

It would certainly be possible that the same problem causes this but it seems somewhat separate of lag from loading chunks as you're moving.

Very closely related to MCPE-22362 (if not the same issue)

There seems to be movement on it just today.

There's a reddit comment from tomcc, one of the developers saying he's fixing it.

Still happening on latest update (v1.1.1)on Windows 10. Is anyone actually looking at this issue?

I've experienced this same bug again, now with a new world that's only 23 MB in size. This makes it all but impossible to travel any meaningful distance in a world.t

At first, I played in the world for a few weeks, traveled to the nether, but otherwise restricted my movements in the overworld. The game ran perfectly fine with no problems as far as performance or lag was concerned.

Yesterday, I crafted a fully zoomed out map and explored all four corners of the overworld, on the map, leaving the middle of the map empty. This increased the world size from around 12 MB to 24 MB. Ever since, my game now lags for 1-3 seconds every 30 seconds on my android samsung galaxy s6, which has 3 GB RAM and a 2.1 GHZ processor. While moving into and out of chunks I'll occasionally experience a great deal of lag, but that doesn't affect the 1-3 second lag that consistently arrives every 30 seconds on the dot.

This is making any world in which I explore the overworld even a little bit unplayable.

Same issue on Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 64Gb+3Gb. World size about 130 MB. Freezing every 15 sec on 1-3 sec. It is an Impossible to continue playing.
