In my survival world I have noticed that slimes do not spawn in slime chunks at any height (I have confirmed they are slime chunks using the reverse engineered algorithm by protolambda) I have tested this in creative and survival modes across multiple slime chunks and seeds I also submited this in the feedback section by accident (sorry about that) I am using a samsung galaxy tab a |

Tony Baxter look at this (most likely related to your lack of slime issue) |

The comment on 29/Sep/17 states fixed. I am running on windows 10 and slimes have stopped spawning, or at least very rarely spawn. I even went back to an older world with a working slime farm (in slime chunk) that was gathering around 900 slimeballs (15+ stacks) an hour and now it gets nothing after waiting 1 hour. Using the latest version on windows store (1.2.7 on the splash screen) |

My starting map is mostly swamp no major waterways or oceans the only thing not spawning are slimes on any level of the map. I have searched the main map all over above and below ground changing the survival level from easy to hard, staying in one area for at least an hour. Then moving on to make sure they don't spawn before I placed this ticket. This occurs on both windows 10 and xbox one even though they are the same version I was testing to make sure of the glitch. |

I have also tested this in multiple settings. Prior to the Better Together update the slime would spawn regardless of light level. Now they only spawn when dark, and rarely at that. They are supposed to spawn in slime chunks regardless of light level, but this is not the case. |

@r.takahashi - you are wrong. Slimes in *slime chunks *spawn regardless of light level and WERE spawning fine a while back. Swamps: (this fits your comment) More precisely, the game checks if the light level is equal to or less than a random integer (from 0 to 7), then if the fraction of the moon that is bright is greater than a random number (from 0 to 1). If these conditions are met and the altitude is acceptable, there is a 50% chance of spawning a slime. "Slime chunks" (this does not) Slimes spawn throughout the world (except mushroom islands) below layer 40 regardless of light level, but only in certain chunks, 1 in 10 of all chunks. These "slime chunks" are determined pseudo-randomly by combining their chunk coordinates with the seed of the world: |

PE's Slimes can't spawn, unless those locations are less than light level 8. |

They used to spawn on Jack O'Lanterns. That would explain the drop for me as I tend to light large areas with them in the floor... thanks. |

While I have a working chunk-based slime farm in my world, it's true that slimes are spawning WAY rarer than expected. And there are two other oddities:

New theory: slimes spawn somewhere over 32 blocks away from the player but still Despawn randomly at over 32 blocks (slimes only spawn if I get really far away but despawn if I go back) so you have to get really lucky to catch one before it despawns. That is why they seem so rare. |

Big news, a whole ONE slime spawned in version 1.0.8 guarantee you that I will never get another one. At least I know that my slime chunks are actually slime chunks and that slimes spawning at a WAYNE lower rate than expexted. |

I have the same problem but with hostile mobs. We built a mob grinder above water to limit mobs spawning below and ruining the grinder, only to realize that the mobs arent spawning at all even if we are 24 blocks away. They only seem to spawn if we are close by. We've tried being close by the grinder but that didnt work either. |

As I watch youtube/tv, I have cleared out more of the area (self-identified chunk) and I believe that a major issue for me has been that is that mobs do not spawn within 24 blocks of the player (except by spawners). I don't know why they don't spawn when I'm in my base, but when I'm at the bedrock level they spawned on the top two levels. |

The same thing has also happened to me after upgrading to 1.0.7 on one of my superlative worlds |

Update: a couple of incidents of slime spawns in 2 of my 3 self-identified slime chunks yesterday using 1.0.7. Both were during the day (or early morning) and neither with a new moon. It seems that the rates are just MUCH lower than I would expect. |

I did have a night with slimes again in 1.0.6. It was not in a swamp biome and I was not in the same area (chunk) as where I had seen them before. It was daytime again before I could check the moon, but I think it was a new moon? When I got out and went back to the other cave system that is all lit up, nothing spawned where I saw the slimes before. |

I had thought that maybe slimes were only spawning in slime chunks on new moons. I had marked everywhere that I had found a slime with wool. Then, I cleared out the area between them. I was paying attention to the moon cycle from my wall clock and they did not spawn on the new moon either. In fact, I had no spawns since 1.0.5. I just upgraded to 1.0.6 so haven't tested it yet. |

Interesting, thank you for the confirmation. |

I too have noticed that slimes are not spawning except in very limited numbers in swamps. Not seen a very large one at all. I usually take out a huge area at level 11 in a swamp biome to almost guarantee slime spawns but nothing therefore thought I would check to see if anyone else is having and issue and here it is. I can confirm that slimes are not spawning in anything other than swamps above ground. iOS 10 latest version. |
