 Description

The spiders in the current version seem to be able to spawn even in a 1x1 area. in the pc version it requires a 2x2 area. is this a bug or is it mean't to be?

Spiders appear to be able to spawn in spots they are not supposed to spawn in - according to the wiki anyway

I have a mob farm that has a bunch of 3x3 spawning pads with a half-slab in the middle. The idea is that you will get all spawn-able mobs EXCEPT for spiders as they need 2x2 to spawn. The farm produces a plethora of spiders

Edit - The mob farm uses trapdoors on all edges of the 3x3 pads. Could it be that the spawning code is considering the trap doors as a spawn-able block?

Do you still notice this in 0.5.0?

Hmmmmm wonder if this is possible. How did you notice this in your game? In mine I dug into a mountain once to gather stone and then to prevent mobs from spawning till my return I did a checker board pattern with my limited dirt blocks. When I returned later I heard spider noises without seeing spiders outside so I ran away without breaking the blocks XD
