 Description

Upon opening Minecraft PE my world saves are not showing and when I try to generate a new random world I get a notification that the world cannot be loaded. I am using a ZTE Z981. I backed up my world saves and uninstalled and reinstalled but that did not fix the issue

Suggested fix by DrAwesome4333
To fix this issue (of missing saves), go to settings, profile, and change save location to external.

Thank you for your report!

Crashes such as these are now logged automatically, so will be investigated further by the development team internally.

So, where does Minecraft: Pocket Edition actually save files like options.txt? Even my storage is set to External, I can't see my server list and etc stuffs.

Comment by Nicole Bielby [ 23/Mar/17 ]

Update: Go to Settings -> Profile -> File Storage Location -> Set it to "External"
Did this. Worlds did not show up. Generated new world. Saved it. In File Manager moved worlds to where the new world was saved. All worlds came up in app. But all work done in the survival world is GONE. This really sucks. Hours and hours spent to build stuff, just gone because of an update that messed up Minecraft!

When my tablets- Asus Zenpad 10 and LG GPad 9.7- updated Minecraft to 1.0.5 beta my worlds had disappeared from the list. Going into Google play on the Asus it still said update, so I did. And the app will not even load. Please fix this.

Confirmed. setting to external worked.

THIS IS NOT A PROBLEM GO TO SETTINGS > PROFILE AND SELECT EXTERNAL AS A SAVING/LOADING OPTION IF U GO TO UR WORLD'S THEY ARE BACK

Comment by Thomas Tam [ 12/Mar/17 ]

Found problem: Go to Minecraft Settings > Profile > File Storage Location > Switch to External. You can access your worlds now.

Same with MIUI 8 (Android)

Confirmed on LG G5 (Android 7.0) with 1.0.5.0

I'm not having any problems creating new worlds. My profile has never been changed from application storage (I have no external storage). But the existing worlds are gone. New worlds are not being created in the same location in the file system. Changing the storage location does not resolve problem. This may be a separate issue from those who cannot create new worlds.

I just got alpha 1.0.5
After the update all of my worlds in the list are gone. Profile was never changed and shows application storage. Using file explorer I verified the worlds are still in their normal location on my phone (pixel/nougat). Tried creating a new world but it does not appear in the file system. The storage location for game save data appears to have moved but existing worlds were not transferred.

Can confirm: running 1.0.5.0 on Nexus 6P/Android 7.1.1.

To fix this issue, go to settings, profile, and change save location to external. Not sure why it crashes when saving to application.

Me too also after changing skin the game won't work
How?
1.Change Skin.
2.Quit the game 2 times.
3.After that the game going to backscreen.

Comment by Sam Hindess [ 11/Mar/17 ]

Yep,

I couldn't see any of my worlds.
My server list also reset.
I checked my Worlds folder, and luckily, all my worlds were there.

This seems like a pretty urgent bug!

Edit:
Motorola Moto G Third Generation
Android 6.0.1

Edit 2:
Compared my phones specs to the ZTE Z981
The main thing I could see the same was the Operating System being the same (Android 6.0)

Edit 3:
I am also unable to create a world, saying, "My World" can not be opened.
