[MCPE-20189] Can't join game via local wifi hotspot on Android Created: 27/Feb/17  Updated: 07/Mar/18  Resolved: 07/Mar/18

Status: Resolved
Project: Minecraft (Bedrock codebase)
Component/s: None
Affects Version/s: 1.0.3
Fix Version/s: None

Type: Bug
Reporter: Paul Reilly
Resolution: Cannot Reproduce Votes: 0
Labels: None

Confirmation Status: Unconfirmed
Platform: Phone - Android - HTC One

 Description
  • Setup mobile hotspot (I used HTC M8) with device not connected to Wi-Fi.
  • Connect another device (I used Samsung Galaxy Tab 4)
  • Start playing Minecraft game on other device
  • I can see the game in the Friends tab, but Minecraft says that I need to be connected to a Wi-Fi network to play.

I don't know if this is even possible, but since Minecraft can see the game on the other device, maybe it is.

This happen after 0.16.0 update, also happen to me, if u want join the game you must turn on play with data cellular, and turn on data cellular, and boom you can join, after joining turn off data cellular, and if u want hosting LAN multiplayer, you must turn on data cellular before entering world, and turn off again if you have entered, try it! Its work for me
