Still a problem for me. The villagers in my custom village try to path find through fences and will stop moving when they hit the fence. They will make angry particles and change jobs if they try to go to their job sites or beds when stuck like this. I have to manually push them away from the fence for them to get free.

This issue is still here on PS4 Edition 1.14.30 Hotfix and affecte all mobs and animals with fences and all blocks who have the same size like bamboo... Happen with pillar but less time then with fences. When animals or mobs are stuck in the block, they lose they IA.

Reopened - this was fixed in the 1.2.10.1 BETA, but the fix wasn't included in 1.2.10.2.

Still affects baby variants of chickens, ocelots and rabbits:

Verified. but only 3 get stuck for me.

Seem to be fixed in 1.2.0.2.

Windows 10 and IOS edition, I have to kil my chickens because the get stuck and you can't breed them unless you have one that isn't stuck.

I also have this problem, and more information about it. Apparently, adult chickens can't fit between the hitboxes of 2 diagonally adjacent fences. To demonstrate this, place 8 fences around a single block and spawn a chicken in the center. It may turn, but won't move from the center block even if you lure it with seeds. (You can even remove the corner fences and it still won't move!) However, it can be nudged through this barrier, and if there is a fence in the corner it becomes trapped because it's now surrounded by hitboxes. Once it's trapped and can't move, it can't cause any collisions to occur, so the net effect is that chickens can only be nudged into a corner, never out of one; it's a unidirectional process. With many chickens, the result is that most of them will eventually become trapped in one of the corners, the effect gradually diminishing as the number of chickens still able to nudge each other falls.

Chickens seem to gravitate toward fence corners (maybe due to rounding away from zero in their random walk pathing calculation?). That by itself is a trivial problem, but it contributes to this bug because it causes chickens to congregate near the corners, increasing the rate of collisions between them.

One workaround is to replace the corner fences with solid blocks, because the solid block's hitbox prevents chickens from being nudged into the corner gap. Make sure to use a stack of two solid blocks, because there's a small chance that a chicken will jump onto a single block and escape.

this is happening in the latest version of MCPE 1.1.3.1

It used to be cows, pigs, sheep and horses getting stuck in corners, even the golems I put in the pens to keep my animals from getting hijacked by zombie babies. I solved the problem with the larger livestock by planting trees in the corners they were clogging.

Since the 1.1 update, it's only happening with chickens for me. And my chicken pens are too small to have a tree in every single corner, since my pens are L or T shaped (more visually interesting than a box) and have a bunch or corners, each with a chicken stuck in it.

@Sarah McCoy: I think the weird head thing is multiple animals occupying the same space. You notice it when you harvest them and have to kill multiple copies and get multiple drops in order to clear the space.

I am also experiencing this issue on Win 10 version 1.1.0. As with others, mobs were previously stuck in the NW corner of fenced areas, but after the update they are getting stuck in all corners. We've had it happen with chickens and rabbits.

I just installed the 1.1 update for Windows 10 version. New rabbits that I just bred after the update are still getting stuck in fence posts. These are black and brown rabbits I just collected from a flower forest biome. Instead of just getting stuck on one corner like before, now it seems that the rabbits are getting stuck in all four corners of the fence. The rabbits also seem to have a weird new owl-like 360 degree head rotation when stuck as shown in the attached screenshots. Their bodies are stuck facing the corner of the fence, but their heads turn 180 degrees to face the player holding a carrot.

Edit: this is also happening with other animals like chickens. New animals bred after the update are getting stuck in all four corners instead of just one corner like prior to the update.

And villagers in 1.0.8

Comment by Matt Smith [ 24/Mar/17 ]

Happens in corners only. Includes pigs, chickens, cows, sheep at least. The corner stuck livestock usually can't mate. Sometimes they will jump off if struck with something non-weapon. This seems to happen exclusively in the northeast corner for some reason.

I have the same problem with pigs. All the informations I have collected for this issue in MCPE-20545 (sorry for the duplicate).

Comment by JavaC0der [ 30/Jan/17 ]

It also happens with rabbits

Comment by Christopher Rodgers [ 29/Jan/17 ]

Yes it seems to be cows, sheep and chickens at the moment. I have not tried pigs in fenced areas.

Comment by noire [ 29/Jan/17 ]

Ah, I have the same issue.
