WillyW, as far as I can tell, the behavior you describe makes perfect sense in the context of MCPE-18250, and seems to be identical to the behavior described there. Therefore, this report is a duplicate of that one. The Ender Dragon doesn't attack you and heads in a straight direction because it is heading towards where the exit portal would be, if the dragon were in The End (X:0,Z:0). It creates a hole and keeps returning to that spot because that is near where it think the portal should be, and in The End, the Ender Dragon flies around and routinely returns to the exit portal.
