 Description

1) Person A is hosting the server.
2) Person B plays it and wants to host it on their phone/tablet.
3) B clicks "save & quick to title".
4) When B opens the world, chests are empty.

It's an annoyance because if someone's battery is running out then there's no option to continue the full world on other phone.

The host was running Samsung Galaxy S and I have HTC Desire S.

I will try to reproduce it tomorrow.

This is an Invalid issue since the devs removed the "Quit and Copy Map option"

Very annoying behavior. It makes copying survival maps less ideal.

Other tickets marked as duplicate report this also affects furnaces (in 0.5.0).

Hopefully this will be fixed soon for the next update?

This is not the intended behavior. We will look into it. (It is actually very bad)

I noticed this too on ipod 4g where like you said after playing together in multi-player only the host's chests will contain items regardless of who put them in the chest. If player B saves the world to their own device and quits then the chests are empty and all they have was what was in their inventory when it was saved. I saw that comment also about since the servers can't remember specific players they will always join the host server empty-handed until resolved.

Johan said that the server does not identify players, that's why inventory is not saved between logouts/logins. I dunno what's the thing with chests, probably similar.

Happening on iPhone 4 <-> iPad 2. Seems only the original host keeps the chest contents. If you want to save items you need to remove them from chests and be carrying them when you Save and Quit the game, but this removes them from the hosted game.. and if you re-join the hosted game you start with nothing again. Only your local games have inventory and chests full.

Would be nice to be able to use Save and Quit to save your own inventory for the game, so you can re-join with it later, rather than emptying a chest to save the contents for later play.
\Is there some way to save the inventory and your chests for a particular multiplayer game, so you get them back on login to same game/host combo? You can put them in a chest, but relies on host being available next time you want to play
