 Description

Cant activate nether core due to

"client message: all players need to be close to the reactor"

I am the only player in my world and standing at the reactor.
I have no other reactors built.

You can still get this message if you're not standing in the right place... for example if you're standing a block below the base of the reactor, or just standing too far back. You should be able to activate it if you stand right in front of it, with your feet at the same height as the base of the reactor.

In this case I'd guess Gak Thorne is right; there was a bug filed against 0.5.0 where you could use reactors to break through bedrock; this is probably a fix for that that.

Seems its a proximity to the lower level bedrock message I expect... the game must measure the players proximity to the void maybe? if I stand on 2 blocks 1 block away from core I can actually activate it... then later die in the void.
