Confirmed on Samsung Galaxy S4 SGH-I337M Android 5.0.1, MCPE 1.0.0.7.

Steps to Reproduce: Create new creative flat single player world, using tp command to move to these coordinates, build end portals and observe as follows:

  • 254,6,0 (end portal has stretched pixels in N/S direction)
  • 0,6,254 (end portal has stretched pixels in E/W direction)
  • 0,254,0 (end porta is fine, no stretched pixels)

This bug does not affect my Samsung Galaxy S6 SM-G920W8 Android 6.0.1 (consensus seems to be that this bug does not affect Android 6)

The end portal texture is really weird.

Device: DL Tablet 3405
PS: It has a Intel Atom processor.

For me, the Eye of Enders' (depending on which axis) textures does stretch, as well as of the End Portal itself.

Tested using the Galaxy Note 5 with Android 6.0.1.

I just tried making portals in different positions as the comment said. And I can confirm that it occurs on my 6.0.1 device. Pixelated and stretched texture except the one in x:0 y:0. So it's not the same on all the devices!

Interesting to note the stretch direction changed!

I picked 254 distance because that's the most we can go in the z direction.

I forgot that this bug might not affect Android 6, oops. I'll retest on an Android 5 device and report back... As requested, I'll test changing x and z independently too.

I tried to test this using a new creative flat world with cheats enabled. I teleported to these four locations and built end portals at each: 0,5,0 then 300,5,300 then 1000,5,1000 and finally 40000,5,40000 and at all locations the portals all looked fine and the same... Tested MCPE 1.0.0.7 on Samsung Galaxy S6 SM-G920W8 Android 6.0.1

On the first portal, I was too close to it when it opened and I traveled to the end, had to convert personal game mode to survival, kill myself and convert back to creative to get back and continue the test.

I found the cause of this, it all has to do with coordinates! At (x,z) 0,0 the portal looks normal but if you go get a portal further out it looks more and more stretched and or pixelated.

After defeating the Dragon, the texture of the portal that will lead you back to the Overworld has already been fixed in 1.0.0.0 update but when you make a new portal, its texture is buggy and messed up. I hope it will be fixed soon. My unit is Lenovo A7 Tablet - Android 4.4

The texture is fixed for The leave portal too the overworld in build 3, but after u kill the Dragon but when u make a when u use a portal frame the texture is messed up for that and the multiple portals in "The End".

It still affects my MCPE 0.17.0.2. My unit is Lenovo A7 Tablet - Android 4.4 I hope that they will fix this in 0.17.0.3

The reason for this is because of floating-point precision. This can be remedied by using high precision floats in the fragment shader for certain variables, though this fix doesn't work for older devices that don't support highp floats in fragment shaders.

Oddly enough, this also fixes the crash when viewing end portals/gateways in non-fancy mode.
