 Description

Both of my kids have 5th generation ipods running ios 9.3.5, and when minecraft updated to v 0.16 their worlds no longer load, when they click on a world minecraft shuts down. It has been 4 days since it has updated and it is extremely frustrating as this is a paid game and we are getting ripped off!!

Please reply and update affected versions if you're still able to reproduce this issue.

So shouldn't the 0.16.0 update be not available on those devices?

Lesson learned- backup device first before updating frequently used apps. There's no way I can rollback my daughter's MCPE on her iPad, she's quite devastated.

My kids are also singularly unimpressed by Minecraft PE 0.16.0 exiting as soon as they load any world on their iPad mini 1st Gen. These and the iPod Touch 5th Gen are all A5 based iOS devices with 512GB RAM.

You can see by reading the JetsamEvent-[date].ips files generated when Minecraft exits that minecraftpe is being terminated because of "reason" : "vm-pageshortage" while "largestProcess" : "minecraftpe". It generally has on the order of 230MB of dirty memory: "rpages" : 57612 * "pageSize" : 4096.

So, the problem appears to be that minecraftpe has increased its memory usage in 0.16.0 beyond what is sustainable on 512GB iOS devices.
