[MCPE-17021] Horse controls are occasionally broken when starting to ride it Created: 14/Sep/16  Updated: 11/Apr/18  Resolved: 11/Apr/18

Status: Resolved

 Description

Occasionally, after getting on the horse, the controls do not respond properly. moving the mouse horizontally doesn't make much of a difference, forward and backward keys cause the horse to go in circles, strafe keys turn the horse around a fixed point in front of the horse (e.g. keeping either strafe key pressed causes the horse to go around this point in a circle).

The problem happens when the player mounts the horse when it is wandering about (walking animation). If the horse is standing still, it is safe to mount. If mounter when it is moving, getting off will allow it to resume its animation, and then it can be mounted again.

1.0.5 player here, still experiencing this bug

Seems to be fixed in 1.0.0? At least it doesn't seem to be as bad as it was before.

Affects 16.0 as well.

This is happening when the horse is moving (i.e. in the middle of walking animation) while being mounted. If it is standing still, it doesn't seem to happen. Getting off, waiting for it to finish walking animation, then getting back on fixes the problem.

Just to clarify, I've never seen this happen during long riding sessions. It only happens when getting on the horse at the beginning of a new riding session (e.g. typically, getting off the horse to cross rives, then mounting it again on the other side)
