No textures or mods . Yes bottom layer is also dark. Yes possibly related to shadow because this bug does not occur when "fancy graphs" is disabled. |

It looks like the shadow shading is being applied to the top layer of the mob's model. Can you see if the bottom model layers are shadowed or bright? |

I can't reproduce this. Can you please add any more details? Can you confirm that you are not using any texture packs? |
