Confirmation Status: Unconfirmed
Platform: Android

 Description

I wanted to know about the commands put on MCPE 0.16.0 Build 1 but the crashing on startup issue does not let me see new features added in MCPE 0.16.0, The package manager says App installed but Minecraft crashes on startup.

I do not have any MCPE tools such as Block launcher, nor any texture packs.

Expected results: It should startup without issues

Actual results: It crashes on startup in Android 4.2.2 or lower

Steps to reproduce:

1. Make sure your Android version is 4.2.2
2. Run Minecraft PE 0.16.0 Build 1

Also, check if your device has OpenGL 3.0 or higher. It seems that is a requirement to run MCPE (but it should have been an issue well before 0.16.0)

Please comment on MCPE-16647. That ticket is for crash issues that are NOT resolved by removing/renaming the resource_packs folder.

Did you try deleting the resource_packs folder in the com.mojang folder of your device? I had the same problem and that solved the crashing problem...
