 Description

You are able to put levers, buttons, repeaters and comparators over fences. I did not expect to be able to put any of these blocks.

Fixed for doors, redstone dust and rails. The other items are supposed to be able to be placed on fences.

Affects 0.15.90.8 (0.16.0 beta build 5).

Comment by Zeb [ 16/Sep/16 ]

Added a new screenshot clearly showing the affected blocks in 0.15.90.7.

This issue should be renamed to reflect the fact that doors, rails, and redstone dust can no longer be placed on fences/walls. I suggest this new name:

"Buttons, levers, repeaters, & comparators can be placed on fences/walls"

Comment by Zeb [ 16/Sep/16 ]

Affects 0.16.0 Beta Build 4 (AKA 0.15.90.7).

Comment by Zeb [ 03/Sep/16 ]

@Beta Tester: 0.15.90.2 is being retroactively named build 3, even though it says "build 1" in-game. Likewise, 0.15.90.1 is build 2, and 0.15.90.0 is build 1. 0.15.90.3 will be build 4. See here if you're confused:

Wait build 3 is out?

Comment by Rodrigo [ 02/Sep/16 ]

Oh sorry. In version 0.16 build 3 rails and doors are also not affected.

Comment by Rodrigo [ 02/Sep/16 ]

In 0.16 build 3 you can't put Redstone dust over fences but can put the other components.

Comment by Zeb [ 01/Sep/16 ]

Confirmed for 0.15.7. (Tested on Windows 10.)

Please note, the wiki is just a wiki; it is NOT an official documentation source.

I wish I could place such things on fences in normal MC...

While this is a pretty goofy bug for most redstone components, I actually like buttons being able to be placed on fences because they give them a neat look. (See the attached screenshot I added.) Perhaps an exception could be made for buttons, just because it actually kind of makes sense and looks cool? (unlike the redstone dust and other components which kind of look like they're floating.)

Comment by JackFrostMiner [ 11/Aug/16 ]

No please keep it its really cool and gives weird to the fense

Comment by Ramon [ 10/Aug/16 ]

Yup this might be a bug. Nowhere in the official Minecraft Wiki did I find that Redstone and Redstone related blocks, or doors can be placed on dust, levers, buttons, repeaters, comparators, doors and rails over fences.
