Since updating to 15.0 on my Sony tablet, game will not start. When tapping the icon to open the game a black screen appears for a few seconds then closes back to the tablet home screen. Tried several times to uninstall and re-install with the same effects. There are many people having this same issue with different devices running android. See the Forums for more info. |

Hi Mods, something that might help in terms of where to start looking at a fix: in previous versions, I was able to find the Mojang games folder on my Tablet...now with 0.15.xx I can't find anything at all. I've downloaded the game alright, but I'm not even sure if the game is installed (other than the screen shortcut which is supposed to launch the game). Not sure if it's relevant at all, but it's a noticeable change from previous editions. |

Kindly please ask the techs in the future... when such a case occurs that you all would like to opt to follow the case with an earlier item number... that you'd be so kind as to let the rest of us stressfully waiting for resolution to the issue know that we now need to hop over to another train and camp out there instead. Thank you sir. |

I have experienced this exact same problem on my son's android tablet. When I click to open the game it goes to a black screen for 9-10 seconds, then goes back to the android home screen. The game will not play at all. He does not have any mods installed. The second we updated to the 0.15.0/1/2/3/4 version it stopped working. Uninstalled and then reinstalled several times. This is on a Nextbook, Model NXA8QC116, Android 5.0, Kernel version 3.10.20-x86_64_byt Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

Please forgive me... but can somebody please explain to me why this issue got marked as Resolved? What EXACTLY was tested for and was resolved? (Just marking an item as Resolved without notes like that... especially in a customer-facing position... Really??) ... and in what version number did it get resolved in? (C'mon man, this is Developer/QA 101 stuff here!) As of the date of this comment (8-2-2016) The currently listed version is 0.15.4 and that version does not seem to correct this problem that, at least these poor folks here, are having. (BTW, Here are the specs for all the devices mentioned so far. Found on GMSArena.com, URL's provided for your convenience) Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 P5210 --> (http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_tab_3_10_1_p5210-5478.php) My Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 that it does work on? Several of us were instructed to begin watching this opened issue... and that our reports were duplicates... SO... as good little users that's what we did. Closing this case.. as Resolved.. (With No Notes?) Even AFTER the same folks that have reported it to you have also explicitly told you that your latest release which is posted up on the Play store (0.15.4) did NOT resolve it for them? Kinda not cool, no? Just so we, as users, are being thorough here.. Perhaps you can ask around with your tech's and see if any of them has made a document that describes how to go about thoroughly ensuring that you've removed any and all mods which could affect MCPE? I very thoroughly went thru my Boys Acer and uninstalled quite a bit of stuff off that darn thing. Before doing so I backed-up the worlds he constructed to a different location on the External SD. Uninstalled anything that looked like it could be related to MCPE (and even a bunch of other games not related, just to re-gain room)... did a shutdoon/restart...re-installed MCPE (0.15.4)... before even bothering to put back the files for his level he built, tried running it... nogo... like everybody else is saying... few split-seconds of blackscreen... then BOOP!... back to OS. No error msgs. No nothing. |

Mods: this is NOT the same problem as the "unfortunately Minecraft has stopped working" error...we don't even get that far. The screen goes black as if it were loading, then goes back to the Android screen as if we hadn't even pressed the Minecraft button to make it work. There's no error message, just blackness and then back to the tablet screen...MCPE doesn't even engage. |

Also not working on my daughter's Motorola Xoom Wifi (MZ604) running Android 4.4.4. None of the 0.15.x versions have worked. No extra mod/textures installed. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling MCPE, clearing cache, dalvik cache. Nothing has worked. Haven't tried the network turn-off yet, but will tonight. EDIT: Just tried in airplane mode - still did not work. I have sent the "reports" when it crashes. Not sure whether these system reports make it to Mojang. I could provide some sort of logs if they were useful and someone told me how to collect them! Still works fine on my Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 (SM-T800) running android 5.0.2. |

I have escalated this issue for a retriage. Hopefully it will be investigated again soon. Please keep in mind, this is complex issue and might not be resolved in the next update. |

Problem still exists as of 0.15.3. The versions affected should be updated to include .2 and .3. I had commented earlier that I had removed the MCPE files from my device as some had suggested that this would fix the problem. Note that the files/directories have not been recreated by running the program. Should be some clue as to how far the program gets in initialization. Its been a month since this problem was created by installation of 0.15. Should be fixed or should make 0.14 available to those of us that can't run the program we paid for. |

My son has had this issue on his LG LEON since the last update. Just done the 0.15.3.2 update and it has made no difference. Ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling etc with no success. Any idea how long this might go on for as he is distraught with out his Minecraft? |

I have a Transformer TF101 v. 4.0.3 and I am also getting a black screen and cannot open the game since v.15 was released. Have also tried rebooting with wifi turned off and that does not help. |

I'm also getting black screen on my Samsung Galaxy GT-P7310 running 4.0.4 MCPE version 0.15.2, I have tried uninstall, reinstall, did a factory reset and this is only thing i have downloaded. I can play it on my S7 Edge just fine but would rather play on my bigger screen. |

As a last attempt to get this game to work, since some people have had success with removing files, texture packs, third party apps, etc... I did a factory reset (lost a lot of stuff and took a lot of time). After I got Google Play store back, went directly to MCPE and installed. Still have the same issue. So.... it seems to be an issue with the 15. 0/1/2 update than a device problem. I know some have done this already with the same results. I did this for my own satisfaction to insure it was not something that I had downloaded causing the problem. |

Dears, I've tried deleting all other mods & third party programs. Also deleted com.mojang folder entirely. Restart the Tablet, then installed 0.15.0 and tried 0.15.1 , disabled WiFi and try to open it, and guess what? I didn't work!! enable WiFi again, Not working again. The exact blackscreen. Device Information: Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Any other suggestions? |
| Comment by Thomas Towle [ 07/Jul/16 ] |

Same black screen on attempt to start after updating to 0.15.1. Goes black for about 15-20 seconds then returns to home screen. Have tried reboot, delete and reload of MCPE. Also removed MCPE, saved copy of worlds directory, removed MCPE directories (as some have suggested to attempt to fix problem), then reinstalled MCPE and attempted to start. Same black screen result and MCPE directories have not been recreated. |

Did not work for my device. |

Try disconnecting your device from all networks (disable wifi, cellular ethernet)reboot and run the game again. If mcpe runs fine, without network, go to options and click sign out of xbox live. Stay signed out and see if you can play the game for a while. If that works close the game, reenable networks and see if mcpe runs again. If it does, you can keep playing without xbox live (local network and some external servers work but realms will not and xbox network games will not). You can try signin in to xbox live again, and it may work. If it doesn't, repeat the above. This is just a temporary solution. Please comment back if it does or does not work. |

Yes, Updated through Google Play Store using home WiFi. WiFi is working on all other apps. No texture packs or any other third party apps. Any way to go back to 14.0? |
| Comment by rplatham [ 06/Jul/16 ] |
|
Just double checking obvious stuff here (Walt answered most of this already): no texture packs added or mods installed? Updated the game by Google play store? Your devices are connected to the Internet? |

Please provide the full make and model of your device and version of your operating system by going to settings, about device. For example, Samsung Galaxy S6 (SM-G920W8) android 5.1.1. |

Same problem for me, nothing I've done fixes it (uninstall, reinstall, reset to factory settings...anything). |
| Comment by Walt Carnes [ 30/Jun/16 ] |

I have no third party packs installed. I completely uninstalled the app and using my file management app deleted all files to insure a clean install. Re-installed MCPE from Google Play store. MCPE still refuses to open. As stated above only a black, blank screen appears for a few seconds then disappears back to the tablet home screen. |

Please remove any third party mods and texture packs you may have installed and used in prior versions. They are no longer compatible in the same way. Please comment if this fixes the issue or if you don't have any such things installed. |
