 Description

Whenever a new gui is opened, instead of the cursor being placed in the centre of the screen, the cursor is placed at the location where it was left when the last gui was closed. I am unsure if this is intended behaviour or not, but as the java version of minecraft always recenters the cursor, I'm assuming it's unintended. It also causes a minor annoyance, as the cursor must be found before moving it to the desired location, as it's starting position changes each time.

As far as I can tell, every gui in the game is affected by this, such as the inventory, chests, brewing stands etc. As well as this, the game menu and title screen are affected.

I've also found that if the cursor is misplaced, and then the Minecraft window is unselected/minimised, upon the opening of the minecraft window again, the cursor is recentered.

Happening on latest 1.21.50 update as well. I'm on Win11 23H2.

It's weird because on Education Edition it's recentred when opening a new GUI, which is essentially the same base game as Bedrock

Affects release 1.16.100.

Update: If you move your mouse out of the game in a world with a UI open and then you close that UI, then the Mouse cursor resets to the center of the screen. It seems to reset when the mouse is outside of the game. For Example: I moved my mouse to the taskbar, then closed my inventory. Then my mouse reset to the center of the screen.

Possibly relates to MCPE-19965. Since the cursor isn't affixed to the middle of the screen while playing it also tends to drift away from the window

Affects beta 1.16.200.52

Still affects 1.12.0

Still occurs in 1.8.0, is it intended? Or is it just not fixed for so long? I guess on PC if you playing with mouse cursor supposed to be re-centered upon opening new gui. It's annoying to remember where you left it. (Windows 10)

still on 1.4 and 1.5.0.4 beta

Cannot reproduce on Apple iPad mini

Comment by Kevin Wright [ 11/Mar/17 ]

I am still having this issue on release 1.0.4.

Comment by Zeb [ 18/Nov/16 ]

Confirmed to affect 0.16.1 on Windows 10 Edition.

Comment by AMAN4700 [ 08/Aug/16 ]

Please respond and add the current version if you can reproduce this issue.

Comment by Immaterialise [ 29/Jun/16 ]

Still an issue in 0.15.1. As a bit of extra detail, before moving the mouse, the cursor appears as the default windows arrow cursor overlaying the in-game minecraft cursor. As soon as it's moved, the windows cursor disappears

Comment by [Mojang] Mega_Spud (Jay Wells) [ 22/Jun/16 ]

I can't reproduce this on my machine, the cursor is always set to the middle when opening an interface for me.
