 Description

When a player is standing on the tracks to stop an empty minecart that is in motion, the minecart will just go through the player without stopping. The minecart is going in circles on a track that is not elevated.

Will this ever be fixed? I see that this bug was reported all the way back in 2016. And it hasn't been fixed? Why?

You can push a minecart with a villager in it and you expect it to stop when it reaches a fence post, for example. But no, it bumps into it and then travels faster in the opposite direction than it was when when it hit it. With the added bug that means you cannot stop a minecart by standing in its way you end up chasing it down the track. Adding a comment to ensure that it looked at rather than closed. Are minecart mechanics under review hence current issues are being overlooked?

Mine carts are still impossible to start and stop as per comment above. Affects 1.10. Seems to be an improvement with them not being pushed into solid blocks but will re test this..

Minecart s were improving. Now with the second aquatic update it Is though it has been built on old code. Impossible to stop a minecart, minecart s not stopping when they should and going through blocks they shouldn't. A real backward step.

This does not just apply to the player... it is daft that a minecart with a mob in it, or not, can simply be pushed into a block be it cobblestone, fence etc. ending up with the mob being killed because you cannot break the block with a mob in. Another really annoying 'feature' is that you cannot simply push a cart not on a track onto one. It wobbles, goes backwards if you do get it on the track etc. Even if you place a track underneath the cart it will roll off. The default direction overrides any momentum a player may give it to get it on track so.... you get it on and give it shove and it will simply go in the opposite direction and come off again. Also A non powered rail will also not stop a cart. How do you make these things go in the direction you want and stop when you want it to without manically entering a solid block and killing whatever is in it? I think all the mechanics of minecart need to be looked at

I can still reproduce this problem. Re-opening.

This appears to be fixed as I was unable to reproduce the problem.

Mega_Spud I tested this in MC PC and you are in fact able to stop a minecart regardless of how fast it's going. The tracks the minecart was moving on were not elevated.

Mega_Spud It's a typo of minecart. Not sure how I didn't notice that the first time.

Minecrafts or Minecarts?

I think this relates to MCPE-12842, regarding collision with entities. You can stop a cart if it is not moving too fast, or at least slow it down, and even more so if you sneak.
