In villages, when there has been a stronghold under the well in previous versions, now the part of the well above ground is replaced by a staircase. Digging underground reveals that the stronghold itself is gone. I've attached a couple of screenshots of the seed "root". One is what it looks like in 0.14.3 on Win10; the second is what it looks like in 0.15.0 in PE. I haven't confirmed if this applies to strongholds which are not under villages rplatham update for 0.16.0 Beta build 1: trying to generate a new world with a village with a stronghold within render distance crashes MCPE when the generating terrain bar is 1/2 way completed. Try seed 228529541 for example. However, seed robot does generates without crashing (stronghold is still messed up, just a small staircase under the well). |

Not too late. We (volunteer moderators) don't control when bug fixes go into new updates. I hope Stronghold generation is fixed in the next public release too. |

I justed tested in 0.15.90.8 on seed 228529541 and the stronghold generated fine. Here's hoping the bug fixes in 0.15.90.8 make their way into the next public release! I've set this bug as fixed. I understand the fix is not yet out, but it will be. |

I had tested many seeds that contains Stronghold. No one of them could generate normally. The Stronghold seed that can generate varies on different devices. |

This problem also happens in Version 0.15.10. Cannot entering the world that contains Stronghold. ( Once open it, it hangs and automatically turns into black screen and force closed. ) Plz fix it, no one of the 0.15 version can generate a normal Stronghold like the older versions. E.g. 0.14, 0.13 . |

For some maps, it seems that if the chunk(s) that contain the stronghold are taken out of memory, the game will crash. However, if you stay around the area where the stronghold should be(i.e. close enough that the rest should be generated) and then leave the area, the game will not crash. However, when you leave the world, it will crash. |

Version update on 15.90 Android. When creating a game with seed "root" on creative or survival the game crashes on start. This time you can not get into the game on this seed at all. So can not confirm if the stronghold is generated or not as there is a full crash to "desktop" |

Tested on 0.15.6 with an Xperia Z2 on Android 6.0.1 A world generated in creative will not be affected by this bug as far as I can tell, although only the shaft is generated underground - the rest of the stronghold is missing. However, survival is still fully affected. The game also crashes when saving the world regardless of whether it was generated in creative or survival. |

Version 0.15.6 Android still same issue. Maybe since it is an Android issue and MCPE is mainly concerned with Windows this issue will not be solved |

Can confirm this happens on android version but generates correctly on windows 10 edition. Tried moving a generated map from windows 10 edition to android just to see what happens - the world has the same crashing issues and the fortress is no longer there - just an empty well - thought this was strange enough to make note of. |

Interesting. This does not seem to happen on the Nox Android emulator, which is Intel-based. It also does not happen on Win10 Edition on a laptop that is also Intel-based. Could it be possible that this bug only affects ARM-based devices? |

Tested it on version 0.15.2.1 on Kindle Fire. Both new and old seeds are created with stronghold stairs instead of wells. No fortress below stronghold stairs. Game crashing when exiting to title. No other issues as far as I can tell. Thanks! |

Tested it on version 15.2.1 and found that when creating a creative world with seed root the well has stairs on top. When using same seed on Survival there are no stairs on well. Did some exploring on Survival and found no fortress below town so far only abandoned mine. Games still crashes on both games types when you exit onto title. |

Thanks for the update. I understand that there are a few other issues that seem very important and again thanks for all the work you guys are doing. The reason why I see this is such a major issue is that if a world generated while this bug is in place will have to be deleted once you fix it. Say for example I start a new world and spend hours playing and ignore that there is no strongholds. Then in a few months of building the world and hours of play you bring in the end to the game. My world will be of no use as there will be know way to get to the end as no strongholds will be available. Yes there is no crash and yes you can still play MCPE but playing with Survival and Achievements there is no use if in the end there is no way to get to it. |

Tickets are no longer assigned in Mojira for PE. Votes do help though. Considering all the other crash issues in PE right nos, this issue isn't likely high priority, but I cannot speak for the devs. |

I noticed a new update today and after update still not working. On generation of seed "root" game hangs and eventually is generated. Tower over well is still present and after exiting the game mcpe closes or crashes. |

We need more votes for this issue so that it gets @tomcc @argo_major @shogicp @darngeek and the other devs attention. It causes frequent crashing, not to mention eliminates one of the best sources for saddles and other loot. Any worlds that get the glitched stronghold loaded will start crashing on exit and occasionally when the world is loaded. Still affects 0.15.1 build 1 on Android. Any world that gets the glitched fortress will almost certainly have to be restarted after the fix, so the bug holds up development on one of my favorite seeds. |

Had the same issue as well. No other part of the stronghold is generated, so no end portal room, etc. Can also confirm frequent crashing in these worlds. Works on multiple seeds, even newly generated ones. Sometimes crashes when loading the world. |

Confirmed and reproducible on Samsung Galaxy S6 singleplayer creative. Create a new world with seed 3506402 or 228529541 as examples of seeds where you spawn right beside a village that, in previous versions, had a stronghold directly beneath the well. Seems the stronghold is generating as a staircase on top of the well. That is to say, the stone staircase has replaced the wood fencing and stone roof of the well and there is no stronghold structure beneath the well. |
