relates to MCPE-14072 Keyboard buffer and delay after SO up... Resolved
Confirmation Status: Unconfirmed
Platform: Windows

 Description

Pressing and holding a keyboard or mouse key for a long time will cause motion or action to continue after releasing the keyboard or mouse key. For example, running forward with W for a few seconds will cause the character to continue for several blocks when W is released. In short bursts it is OK. This makes it risky to travel around dangerous places. Right click actions like using the bow sometimes don't work.

This issues only started for me with 0.14.1. Yes, 0.14.1 does exist in spite the create bug UI complaining that it doesn't. I see the version number right on the corner of the Play screen.

This is an issue with Windows 10, not the game itself.

Confirming the issue has also gone away since updating to Windows 10 build 14342 for me too.

Just wanted to confirm that Win10 Build 14342 has resolved this issue (and MCPE-14382) for me as well.

This bug appears to be fixed for me since Windows 10 build 14342.

I have a wired USB keyboard and Build 14332. There is still the issue in 0.14.2.
Pressing the w key once, makes the movement forward as if the key is stick down.
Pressing the w key again makes it stop, then pressing the w key again has no effect.
The game is un-playable. I have tried a different keyboard in another port, but still the same.

Sadly this is still happening in 0.14.2. I have the feeling it even got worse because some inputs are often held, even though the key is already released. Pressing the key once more stops it.

This issue happens for me too. I'm using a wired keyboard and also tried switching USB ports and re-installing the drivers with no use. This bug also started for me in 0.14.1.

OS: Windows 10 Build 14316 and also occuring on 14328 so this might be related to the Insider Preview builds.

If there was a way to downgrade Windows 10 Edition, I'd be really grateful because the lag is making the game almost unplayable, especially when not playing on peaceful... :/

I checked all connections, replaced batteries in mouse and keyboard. I still experience the lag in response and some actions are flaky (like strike and shoot a bow). I'm on a preview version of windows, 14317.rs1_onecore_analog. When I exported this game and imported it on another PC with the same type of wireless keyboard and mouse the problem did not occur there.

  • If you're using a wireless keyboard and/or mouse, check the battery level of both your keyboard and mouse.
  • Make sure that the connection between the mouse/keyboard is strong if wireless, or make sure the cords aren't damaged and are fully inserted if they use wires.

Please respond if this doesn't fix your problem.
