| Description |
|
I came across my problem after I placed a map on an item frame in a far-off village that was within the highest zoom map. When I went back to my home base and after I exited and reentered, the green map marker of the village disappeared from my held map. |

Just confirmed problem still occurs on Java Edition (Latest release on Linux Ubuntu 16.04). I had a map with two markers on it. When saving/exiting, then loading back in to the game, the map markers disappear. They are not black, but rather are gone entirely. |

Map markers are green when they have been visited, but if you quit and rejoin and are far enough away from the map markers then they become black |

Mega_Spud, the map marker that you're showing as the problem is still on your maps, it just appears black. You can see the map markers better when you're in the overworld and the map markers are in areas of grass and sand. I've attached a screenshot that shows problematic map markers in grass-dominated areas |

Just tested the map markers on a flat world with a 4/4 level map. Upon reentering the world in v1.0.0, the map markers that aren't in my chunk are blackened out rather than just removed like back in v0.14.3. IMO I feel that the blackened out map markers are an improvement because it gives the sense of "Oh hey, this is where your map marker was but it might not be there anymore if you decide to go back over there". |

Still affects 0.14.3 and also 0.15 build 1. In my case maps won't disappear always from frames but markers are gone upon reopening world and I have to revisit the chunk where map markers are placed to get them to display in maps. But if I close again the world and open it they will he gone again. This makes markers get useless as they will never save. |

As seen in the screenshot I attached above, map positions are only updated when re-loading the world, which is another form of the same bug described in this ticket. |

Video of Win 10 Beta Map Marker bug. There are 2 green map markers in the video: the one directly on my player marker is my home base and the one on the upper right of my held map is the marker of a far-off village. Upon reentering the world, the village map marker disappears. Not shown in the video is the fact that the map marker reappears ONLY if I walk back to the village first. |
