 Description

These blocks do not display or change their name on the interactive GUI when named in an anvil.

  1. Enchantment Table,
  2. Furnace,
  3. Brewing Stand,
  4. Dropper,
  5. Hopper, and
  6. Dispenser.
  7. Chest,
  8. Trapped Chest.

Steps to reproduce

  • Name an item in which has an interactive GUI interface using the anvil.
  • Place the item down.
  • Open the items interactive GUI interface.
  • The item's default name is shown instead of it's 'custom name'. (See example photos of what is expected to be shown.)

Affects 1.0 Beta.

I believe in 1.11, the GUI issue was fixed when breaking the renamed blocks.

Confirmed for 0.15.0 on Windows 10. Affects all blocks with GUIs.

To clarify for those confused, in the Java edition you can name a chest, dropper, etc. in an anvil, and when placed, the block will keep it's name in the GUI in place of the default "Chest" or "Dropper" name normally shown. Breaking the blocks will cause them to lose their name, however.

Of course, I'm not sure if this feature was ever even added to PE/Win10, so the reason it doesn't work may be due to the fact that it may never have been added in the first place.

This happens with chest. Confirmed in version 0.14.1 and 0.14.2 Minecraft Windows 10 Edition Beta.

marcoproplayer, can not do what? You can do this with Chest and Trapped Chest, but Furnace, Dropper, etc (list on the description) they do not display the name.

Comment by marco ruggiero [ 31/Jan/16 ]

Can someone reopen this issue? Janosik resolved this issue as "Won't Fix" for no reason.

Comment by PHO [ 06/Jan/16 ]

It's probably "Quality Assurance." I hope it's not "Quiet Abandoner"

Is [QA] tag stands for "Questions & Answers"?

Comment by PHO [ 06/Jan/16 ]

Janosik closed this issue as "Won't Fix" but why? He/she gave us no explanation.

Comment by ItsPlantseed [ 30/Dec/15 ]

It was tested on PC Edition
