 Description

Using 4 Kindle Fires with same version of pocket edition on same wireless network (2 different networks tested). Two of the Kindles were original Fires, the other two are second generation hardware purchased recently. The 2nd gen Fires don't seem to share their session so that it is visible to join - the old ones can't see a world opened for LAN and the other 2nd gen can't see it either. However, the 2nd gen devices can see and join a world shared from the original Kindles.

This should be fixed.

Still broken in 0.8.1. Please work with Amazon to get a fix for this. Have commented on Amazon's site also and in the App Store that this doesn't work.

Please fix this bug Mojang! All my friends want to play on my world but can't!!! Please please please fix it!

Comment by Bob Smith [ 01/Nov/13 ]

I have two first generation Kindle Fires and two 2nd generation Kindle Fires purchased about a month ago, and I can verify that I am having the same problem. Only the first generation Kindles can create worlds and everyone can see them, while the 2nd generation can't.

9 Months and no fix. Wow. Same issue have original kindle fire and it works fine both ways. Samsung android tablet, Motorola Droid Razor and they both work fine both ways. No one can see the new Kindle Fire but it can join games hosted by all the other devices. Have version .7.5 on all devices. Have bought this game 4 times. PLEASE FIX NOW!!!!!

We have two Kindle Fires with Minecraft PE (we only bought it once; both KFs are linked to same Amazon account). They cannot connect with each other, however can connect to other players hosting on our WiFi network using iPad.

Did we just get a huge update and absolutely no fix for the Kindle Fire HDs?

Comment by victoraz [ 07/Jun/13 ]

This is a bug that needs to be assigned & fixed. Kindle Fire 2's cannot be joined by any other device. This is not a network issue. On the same wifi, the kindle fire 2 can join an iphone or android phone, but no one can join the kindle fire 2.

Comment by technotim [ 30/May/13 ]

Confirmed, I can't join my friend's second generation kindle fire but he can join my first generation.

Comment by debbie la [ 28/Apr/13 ]

I have the same issue.I have a 1st gen fire. I can join games my son has on his aneroid and vice versatile. My daughter has a newer fire. She can join our games but neither of us can join hers.

Please fix this issue!

My family is having the same problem and can confirm that the new generation kindle fire can connect to iOS but no one can connect to the kindle fire. Hope this can be fixed in the next release.

We have three Kindle Fire HDs in the house and none of them can see each other when searching for game/worlds. However, recently we were with a group of various platforms (iPhone, Samsung pad, iPad) playing together. I was hosting a game on my Kindle Fire HD, one of the iPhone's joined the game. The minute he joined my game, my daughter's Kindle Fire HD which previously could not find/see the world was able to discover AND join successfully.

Summary: KFHD to KFHD do not see each other. Add another platform (such as iPhone/iPad/Tablet) to the KFHD hosted world and then other KFHDs can see/join.

Possibly a broadcasting challenge with KFHD? Once another platform joins, it broadcasts the signal as well, allowing other KFHDs to see?

Isthis in the process if being fixed? Very frustrating.
Can join ipad and iphone but not other kindle fire

Comment by Valerie Stayton [ 12/Apr/13 ]

I just wanted to chime in with everyone else here. When or ARE you all planning on addressing this issue? My kids are super frustrated with this issue as they were required to pay for the game themselves. Please let us know what your intentions are as to this issue.

Comment by Andy Henry [ 29/Mar/13 ]

My sons have the same issue. Successive versions of Kindle Fires, same version of Minecraft. The newer Kindle can join games on the older one, but not the reverse.

Comment by Crystal Mealey [ 28/Mar/13 ]

There are many people out there that have spent money purchasing this game multiple times (6.99 x 3) for my family and friends have paid for it twice for their kids and they can't join each others games. I would think with this many people having the same issue and the issue being known for 2 months that someone would fix it by now!!!

My first gen kindle can start a game and have my childrens 2nd gen kindle join, but if my children start a game, then they can't join. I'd like my kindle back. Please fix this.

Comment by Meghan Matranga [ 15/Mar/13 ]

Is this going to be fixed? This has been a reported problem for a few months now and I would like some sort of explanation as to what the plan is. Thank you.

Same problem here.

We have a Kindle 2nd generation Kindle Fire, and when trying to others to connect my Minecraft Pocket Edition server, they stuck on "scanning for wifi games". I can join other PE servers on Kindles, ipads, iPhones.

Kindle 2nd generation Kindle Fire is updated.

Minecraft PE is updated.

Both devices are connected to the same Wifi network.

Both are set to “visible by default” and “visible” when the game is running.

Would it possible to address this bug in update 0.7.0?

Otherwise perhaps offer refund?

Same problem here... just got kids a Kindle Fire each so that we can reclaim our TV from hours of XBOX crafting and the first thing they of course want to do is play in multiplayer - rather annoying so can we please fix asap, especially given this was ok on earlier Kindles surely an easy fix?????? 2 unhappy boys and 1 unhappy dad!!!!

Comment by Julia Jones [ 01/Mar/13 ]

We have the same problem. We do multiplayer with a 2nd Generation Kindle Fire, a Samsung Galaxy Tab, a Nexus, and an Asus Transfomer. We can all play together. However, none of us can join a game started on the Kindle Fire.

Kindle Fire 2nd gen. MindCraft PocketEdition ver. 0.6.1 alpha - we have two Kindles 2nd gen setup under one Amazon account. Both have MindCraft 0.6.1 alpha. When one has a game started and visible, the other can not find it on the local wifi network.

Comment by colin [ 23/Feb/13 ]

Same here, tried setting up a home server on the PC to get round this, but that failed too.

Comment by Jon Conley [ 02/Feb/13 ]

Same issues. 3 Kindle Fires (from XMas) that are unable to host a game on wifi. Server is SET AS visible and tested on 3 different wifi networks. The iOS devices (4 of them) are all able to host over wifi and the Kindles can easily see and connect to them. Any attempt to host over wifi from a Kindle Fire, no other devices can detect the server.

Reset devices to stock and tried again without any luck.

For more users having this issue, there is a thread at Amazon here

Comment by joe gray [ 28/Jan/13 ]

we also have this problem can connect kindle fire to the ipod touch but not kindle fire to kindle fire or ipod to kindle - is this going to be resolved in the update 0.5.1 or 0.6.0 or is this an issue with kindle fire?

Comment by Anne Jahnke [ 26/Jan/13 ]

We also have the same problem. 2nd gen Kindle Fire can connect to 1st gen Kindle Fire, but not the other way around.

Another user has duplicated and confirmed same issue I described here in the Minecraft forums at http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1594204-kindle-fire-issues/page__hl__+craftspace#entry20329061
