I use a Nook HD software version 2.2.1 My home base has a ladder that extends from the original surface level down to the bedrock. This ladder falls apart. I assume its something that is happening when I enter my base because every time I discover it, the pieces are still present - which means its within 5 minutes. This is the only ladder in the game that does this. I have to take a waterfall down to the bedrock and rebuild it from there. Sometimes half the ladder is still in place. There have been times when I didn't notice it or look for it right away and I had to recreate the pieces because they were lost. |

I eliminated the bug by removing the chests that I had surrounding the top of the ladder. I think this was tied to the SPLIT CHESTS issue that occurs with Pocket Edition. Also — the fact that split chests only occur in PE and that in PC edition, you can't place chests directly next to each other ... well, that just tells me that there's a reason you can't place chests next to each other. My other ladders that were just as long never did reset so I'm pretty sure that the chests were the cause. |

Does this bug still appear in 0.13.1? If so please respond. |

Hi again Amanda, it is possible that you've placed your ladder on the edge between chunks so the ladders are in one chunk while the blocks they attach to are in another. It's then possible that your ladders are rendered but the next chunk (with the blocks supporting it) are not, so the ladders pop off as items. A painful workaround for this would be to move your whole ladder one block in or out. Again, I'm not certain this is the problem, but it is a possibility. |

How is it lit and how big is the space around the ladder column? This is where a picture of part of the ladder column will help. Can you place torches or vines or another marker near the parts where the ladders fall off so we can see if ( i) that changes what happens, (ii) if the same spots fall off all the time, or (iii) if the markers fall off too! |

This is Survival Single Player. I will take a screen shot as best as I can and attach it but the ladder is so long that screen shots won't paint the right picture. I have a small base that started at my original spawn point. It is made of obsidian and the ladder extends through to the ceiling so I can have access to the roof. The ladder is 65 blocks long. The floor of my cave, below my base, is level with the top layer of bedrock. the ladder then extends upward from there. I not only have the main ladder/block stack but also a stack of blocks on either side of the ladder to prevent accidentally falling off. The block stack and side stacks for the ladder are made of smooth stone, cobblestone, and dirt. My home base consists of the floor, 4 blocks high wall, then the ceiling (total of 6 blocks height). |

Hi PrinnyPoo, Can you send a picture of the ladder column? I'm trying to reproduce the structure to see if I can get placed ladders to drop too if the ladder is from surface to bedrock. I presume this is survival single player? |
