 Description

The mods have noticed that every now and then an xp orb will give up to a ½ or a ⅓ of a high level (>20th level) of experience. For example, xp when catching a fish has been observed to give almost ½ of the xp from level 27 to level 28, or 24 to 25. Currently no idea how to reproduce this consistently.

Confirmed on several Android and iOS systems.

No, just leveled up from 42 to 43 with the breeding of three chicken pairs, 0.12.3.

Was this fixed?

Confirmed for 0.12.2 on iPhone 6 Plus (iOS 9.0.2). It may actually be incorrect measurement/proportioning of accumulated experience orbs, evidence being that certain levels are always passed with amounts of points disproportionate to the expected point requirement curve. For example, level 24 will always be completed by obtaining the equivalent XP orb value of successfully mining four nether quartz ore blocks, or catching approx. six fish. Any usage of those points will remove the normally required level number (e.g., renaming an item at level 25 will place the player's total at 24, rather than an earlier point).
