 Description

This was found while investigating MCPE-8998 and is commented on there, but may not be related to it.

If you use the same seed for the same world, some surface features are different. Most notably, some pools of water, and some (all?) surface lava pools as well.

The attached screenshots are all from the same world seed, -571837837 created all under version 0.12.2. I took them from nearly the same perspective, and you can see the different lava pools and some of the different water features. This is taken just south (turn left 90 degrees) from spawn in that world.

This was found because this world was originally created in version 0.12.1 on windows 10 as a survival world, and when trying to diagnose issues (spawners, there's two in a cave that's in the images in the mid-left), I made these worlds in creative, and noticed geographical differences.

As you can see, the main features of the geography are the same, so it's clearly the same seed, but some of the geography is different. I encourage people to try this seed out and see what different features you can get, while still being the "same world". That large oak is a good landmark to center yourself on.

This ticket has been resolved as 'Cannot Reproduce' as it has not been updated recently (1 year+)

Does this bug still appear in 0.13.1? If so please respond.

As of 0.12.3 on Win10, this doesn't seem to exist for terrain that I can tell. 3 more worlds with the same seed all came up identically (though slightly different from the screenshots here).

I can confirm this on Samsung Galaxy S4 android 5.0.1 MCPE 0.12.2 (and past versions since at least 0.11) in various different seeds that I've regenerated many times, but I thought it was a world generation feature that there could be some small variations not a bug.

Other differences I've noticed vegetation can also change (leaves and structure of trees, sometimes mushrooms appear sometimes not). Sometimes small lava pools where there was nothing.
