 Description

My son has Minecraft PE 12.1 downloaded on his android samsung galaxy tab 4. He has 3 different world's and all but one works correctly. When you tap on the one that has a problem it says "generating world building terrain" then when you finally get into the world you have no coltrol over anything.... none of the buttons work and for example it will zoom in on a villagers face then magically you'll be looking at a wall then the villagers face will show up again. You have to tap the back button several times before you are able to choose back to game, options and quit to title then you have to tap one of those buttons several times before you can do anything. I have shut the app down and restarted the tablet but nothing seems to work. I have no idea what affects version it is I just chose one I can't figure out. All I find on it is 12.1 alpha.

This ticket has been resolved as 'Cannot Reproduce' as it has not been updated recently (1 year+)

Does this bug still appear in 0.13.1? If so please respond.

Ok thank you. He has just been avoiding that area.

cosmo12 I'm glad to hear the world has been at least partially recovered. It sounds like there are corrupt chunks (3D segments of your world) causing the issue. I don't think there is a solution if you want to continue playing that world other than to avoid that area. You could also restart with the same seed, but any building and mining you have done would be lost.

I checked with my son and he doesn't have any add ons. I finally had the time to really mess with it and after awhile I was able to move little by little and once I got far away from where I was the world became normal again. I was able to move and do everything normal but once I got close to that spot again it was on major delay and once I backed up a few steps it was normal again.

Does this bug still appear in 0.12.2? If so please respond.

Hi Amanda, I have corrected the affected version to 0.12.1. It is very likely that the files for that world have been corrupted. It is also likely that that world cannot be recovered, but I have not heard of this particular problem before, so I cannot be certain.

If you backup the files on your son's tablet, it is possible that you could recover from a previous version. Mojang support can help with restoring backups, if you have any.

Also ask your son if he uses any add-ons for Minecraft Pocket Edition (or check the installed apps from Google Play Store). For example, PocketInvEditor or MCPE Master. These add-ons are used to change the saved world files to give the player different items, resources and powers. They can also cause unexpected file/world corruption.

Sorry that we do not have a solution to restore your son's world.
