 Description

After creating the big portal and accessing it my other Portal beneth the big portal broke and lead me to the same exit as the big one.
Any Portal created after the big one also lead to the same portal exit
All the portals in the nether lead to the same overworld portal as well (tried it with portals created far from each other)
Seams to be a coordinate or directinal problem, because other portals I lit and unlit would take the role of the exit-portal if they are closer to the worldspawn, than the previous exit-portal

(I call exit-portal, where I come out in the other dimension(seen from the dimension I was)

only one Pair of Portals (the nether-exit of the big portal; and the lit overworld-portal closest to the worldspawn) takes you to each other (until something closer to the spawn gets lit-up)

Sadly couldn't figure out why it did occure. I tried on a new-created flat world, but the portals are working fine on the new one.

The bugged portals are in a world created in 0.12.1 (the same version)

Please respond and add the current version if you can reproduce this issue.

[MCPE Mod] AMAN4700 No. This has been fixed

Does this bug still appear in 0.13.1? If so please respond.

I added an issue that all nether portals in the Overworld lead to the same portal in the nether. Having played the PC version, this should not work this way.

I received a response from Mojang that this had been fixed and the issue was close.

I made a creative world in 0.13 on my iPad Air with two portals in the Overworld separated by a large distance. Same result. Both portals led to the same portal in the nether.

Mojang, please fix this so that it is the same as with the PC version.

This has been fixed for me in 0.12.2 on the ipad

I can no longer reproduce any portal targeting issue as of 0.12.2. Can anyone confirm that this affects the latest release?

The only bug I am experiencing with portals is when:
-You create a world.
-Walk as far away from original spawn point as possible.
-Create a house and put your portal near your house.
-Enter the Nether portal.
-When you return to the over-world, you will be somewhere near your original spawn point instead of where you originally created the portal.

@Rodrigo X The devs said in their live stream that having coordinates would be 'cheating' but they would be useful in creative mode.

I don't think this is "Works as intended". My world was working fine with portals, until I created one far away in the Overworld, it took me fine to a new portal in the Nether but then when I went back in it took me to the first portal I created. Now every Nether portal I create takes me to that first portal ... And I've traveled long distances in the Nether to try and get a new Overworld Portal.

Comment by Max Orchard [ 29/Sep/15 ]

I'm guessing this is "Works as Intended", because of the way Minecraft calculates Portals.

I used a mod to see my coordinates and tried to sync my portals (like the pc) but still not worked. put the portals and away from each other and in the right coordinates, but go to the nether to the upper world I always go to the same portal.

It's a shame we don't have coordinates yet, as you would then be able to align the portals exactly.

works as intended. I get frustrated with this, too but on mcpe wiki it says it works as intended.
