[MCPE-10759] Blocks register as being partially mined even when out of reach Created: 16/Sep/15  Updated: 29/Jan/16  Resolved: 29/Jan/16

Status: Resolved
Project: Minecraft (Bedrock codebase)
Component/s: None
Affects Version/s: 0.12.1 Win10
Fix Version/s: None

Type: Bug
Reporter: Andrew Palmer
Resolution: Cannot Reproduce Votes: 0

Confirmation Status: Unconfirmed
Platform: Windows

 Description

When pointing at a particular block from a distance that should be too great to mine it, the game still counts it as "taking damage", so to speak, but the block will only break once you are in range of it. This can result in what looks like you instantaneously destroying a stone block with your fist.

To reproduce the bug:

Locate a block that is easily distinguishable.
Position yourself so that you are too far away to mine it.
Select a non-mining tool or use your fist.
Hold the mouse button down while pointing at the block, for 10 - 15 seconds. Do not let the mouse pointer leave the block.
Walk forward until you get within range of the block. The block should either be destroyed immediately or visibly jump to some percentage of being destroyed.

Unfortunately, since I decided to revert back to Windows 8, I no longer have access to the game to test the latest version.

Does this bug still appear in 0.13.1? If so please respond.

No other comments from anyone? I'm pretty sure this was not an intended feature.

Confirmed on iOS iPhone 6 0.12.1 That's pretty ridiculous.
