 Description

Villagers breed at a very fast rate, they can quadruple in population in just 20 minutes. There's a certain area where they like to breed, they all gather up and "rave" in a huge group. Walking by or flying by the area causes the game to get very very lagy. It can crash if the player moves too quickly. The lag was so severe that some blocks like TNT and lava buckets where not responsive. I had to get rid of all of them by throwing a bunch of "Potion of Harming" above them all, since TNT nor lava buckets where working. Once I got rid of them, the game ran fine. I was scared to let the group of villagers increase, since the world might of corrupt and become to be too lagy to play in.

Still affects 1.6.0.30. Although I saw no performance decrease, all entities in my world are now in power saving mode (meaning they basically walk and react in slow motion and dropped items lag as they fall)

Happening to me in gear vr edition. I estimate there are 50 villagers (possibly many more - they are breeding like crazy), 4 iron golems (although I saw one in one of the generated houses, so maybe 5) and it is almost unplayable. I layed around 30-40 doors throughout the village in positions to be counted as houses.

Nope, I start making my village with 2 villagers, and, after placing no more than 6 doors, they start running every where making hearts and childs.
If I can, I will upload my save, and you will see. Now I have 8 doors and approx more than 40 villagers, they steal breeding and the Iron Golem don't spawn.

Maybe it came because I have a vertical village, all doors are not at the same altitude.
The Golem need a minimum of doors ?

But, I'm ok with you, it's not the villagers than making lag the game, his the amounts of villager entity, i have the same with zombi farm.

I'm on Sony Xperia Z5.

They are breeding very rapidly because you have a lot of doors.

Villager breeding does not lag the game, it's a function. Lots of entities in a world, that lags your game. You will notice if you look away and go away a couple hundred blocks , your game won't lag.

Part 2 villager population doubles

Part 1 Spawned 1 villager

That is NOT TRUE AT ALL!!! That glitch has been one of my worlds too and I believe you are too lazy to believe that. I will prove it by showing you the photos that I shall take

There are too many entities in your world. Invalid

Also, no Iron Golem spawned

Same thing happen on my android 5.1.1 with alpha 0.13 build 5. Very very annoying.

alphazen According to the attached photos, the villagers didn't naturally spawn you spawned them. You may want to avoid spawning this many entities. Some slower to high end devices may not be able to handle it.

Spawned village, 12 structures, 9 doors.

Comment by rplatham [ 23/Oct/15 ]

Villager population is directly proportional to the number of doors you have in the area. Di you have a large number of doors in that area of the map?

Same on my iPad 2 with iOS 9 for 0.12.1. Found a village and uncovered the doors to release the villagers. As long as I remained in the immediate area, they started breeding to the point where my device lagged. Killed them by zombie horde and then set carpet down at the "rave" area to take advantage of the bug that damages/kills small mobs to keep most of the kids from growing up.
