 Description

When pistons are lined up in a row, facing downward (useful for portcullis) more then half of the second set of pistons fire out of order and it creates a graphical glitch as well. When the block next to the piston is powered it is more likely to power the piston below it then the piston next to it, this is counter intuitive and not how it acts in 1.4.7. This bug was reported several times for last snapshot but always got tagged as being a duplicate for another unrelated bug that is reported as fixed.

just another screenshot looking at the other side of the previous one I attached.

I can confirm the comment of MG127 within the latest snapshot with this screenshot. No doubt still occurs.

Can anyone confirm the comment of MG127 ?

Comment by MG127 [ 12/May/13 ]

are you sure that this is 100% fixed?

maybe i'll just open another issue for that

@jeb thanks for addressing this, I was worried it was hidden with so few votes. Now onto MC-9460. It's a good start.

Comment by Manuel [ 01/Mar/13 ]

Its already reported: MC-9460

I can confirm, this is working as of 13w09c. I was a little worried when the stable example was a horizontal extender but all of my vertical tests work fine. I did find a new piston deleting bug though, I will report that when I have time.

Marking this as fixed now. This example is stable: http://imgur.com/a/9FMnX

I think this is fixed now, will check tomorrow.

@Ray Kohler I know, not feeling like this is been seen. Trying to spread the word on the forums but getting no love. More people need to up vote this.

And still broken as of 13w09b, with the pre-release this week if this bug isn't noticed and fix there is a good chance it will make it into the official 1.5 release.

Comment by Pete Frisky [ 27/Feb/13 ]

The simple horazontal piston test. 2 rows of pistons powers from above. Powering this setup in v1.4.7 and below will result in the second row of pistons being pushed out before extending themselves. The snapshots leading up to the 1.5 update including 13w09a still result in every second piston extending inconsistently. Adding extra sceenshots.

Comment by Ray Kohler [ 26/Feb/13 ]

Still broken as of 13w09a. If this gets overlooked and makes it into the official release of 1.5 I will be really, annoyed.

@Manuel, yes I do think it's a bud related glitch.
@Charles, 1.5 has also changed timing in redstone circuits so some repeaters may need adjusted. My 2 wide secret stairs worked after I added 1 tick extra delay to two repeaters.

Comment by Charles Bolanos [ 24/Feb/13 ]

13w07a....I try to do that Secret stair case by CNBMinecraft, and then some sticky pistons won't retract eachother or push eachother. When trying to get the stairs going like in the videos, the pistons just stay stuck or wont seem to retract at all.

Comment by Manuel [ 20/Feb/13 ]

i think it's related to MC-108

Comment by Ray Kohler [ 14/Feb/13 ]

Still broken as of 13w7a

Comment by Kumasasa [ 14/Feb/13 ]

Resolved as duplicate of MC-8992 Nevermind

Comment by Pete Frisky [ 11/Feb/13 ]

Yes, as the other piston pushing piston bug, that resulted in the graphics glitch was fixed to an extent. In my 13w06a tests, a horizontal array of pistons powered from above will only activate every second piston. This kills any hidden stairways and my horizontal feed portcullis.

Comment by Manuel [ 07/Feb/13 ]

i can confirm this, its also horizontal
