| Description |

I gave myself all different sword types, none of which even register as punching with the weakness III effect active, then I wanted to try enchantments and noticed that no matter how low of a sharpness/smite/bane enchantment I put on anything it would always register as a punch (smite and bane only against the representative mobs). To test if this still did damage I put a sharpness 1 on a wooden sword and started smacking a small slime, after doing so for a bit I figured that it didn't do damage but continued for the fun of it, until my game decided to crash. |

TMI does not matter since it can be obtained legit but via a third party program (eg. MCEdit). Jens had done that specifically for adventure map makers |

Reproduced in the vanilla client after doing a forceupdate. |

Is Modded: Very likely; Jar signature invalidated If this can be reproduced in vanilla this can be reopened. |

The gameclient is vanilla, therefore it is a vanilla minecraft bug. Adventuremaps use custom potions (which are a feature of the game, specificly added to be used in the way I did) therefore this should be fixed and not ignored. |

This ticket is invalid as it relates to a modded or 3rd party client/server.
