When removing a block below a snow block created from 8 snow layers, the snow block also gets removed. |

What's the problem with an inefficient conversion rate? |

About the snow layer crafting recipe, it would make more sense to make its crafting recipe 3 snowballs instead of 3 snow blocks, and make the output 3 snow layers. That would balance everything out more easily, since each snow layer makes 1 snowball. As for snow blocks, it would make more sense for its recipe to require 8 snowballs now, since we can craft the layers. Anyone agree with my logic? |

Because each snow block is 4 snow balls, but it takes 8 layers of snow to make a full block, so you're losing even more snowballs in production of it. You're already losing half in the current system as is. |

Exactly! |

|
why not just change 8 level snow layers to snow blocks? |

It takes 4 snowballs to make one snow block. 3 snow blocks makes 6 thin snow. Each thin snow drops 1 snowball. 4 * 3 = 12. So the player loses exactly half the snowballs used to produce thin snow. Wouldn't it be worse if they made full snow blocks? |

Block snow made with 8 layers of snow still can not float, receive buttons, levers, etc... |

Why not just let a "full layered-snow block" actually produce a "normal" snow block instead? |

I think Nils Drescher's idea is good. It makes things work like they look they should. |

|
I guess they have to be a full solid block to work that way. |

Hmm, but they don't actually work with redstone. Levers on layered snow don't output signal from the layered snow, and signal going into layered snow doesn't turn off a redstone torch. So those would only be for decoration. |

|
I like that reason. It works with levels, torches and so on |

Signs require all the sides of a block to be solid, for no particular reason. Try a lever. |

|
Sorry, but I cannot place signs on the top face of the snow blocks made of snow layers. |

The 8-high snow block is 1/8th of a block shorter than Snow Blocks (On the y axis) aswell |

See my comment. |

NOT FIXED! |

I've made the top face of an 8-high snow block solid, but the other faces can't be changed due to technical limitations. |
