 Description

Some blocks behave as adventure mode even though I'm in survival mode. I have a clean snapshot file, with no mods. I couldn't break some blocks with any tool. I was using the seed -895521594 and the problem occurred around x=16 y=78 z=124. No crashes occurred. I've seen this happen with a bed, grass block, melon block and wood block.

*Did u use the command chat box? if u did maybe u entered "/gamemode 2"? Gamemode 2 is adventure mode that is "tools only" mining, to revert to survival mode enter "gamemode 0" which is the REAL survival game mode

tons of ppl are complaining about this glitch
le me put it in the wiki on both "survival" & "creative" pages

I didn't know that, Kumasasa. Thanks!

The real problem here is that if you create any world with cheats on and then force crash it, the report will say cheats off. I just tested it.

LOL.
Game Menu -> Open to LAN

Oh yeah? /publish is not available when cheats off.

Create a new world, survival cheats off. Open lan - allow cheats on. /gamemode 2. Save and Quit. Rejoin the world, F3+C. Crash shows cheats: false.

The weird thing is, he has cheats off according to the log file. I think you are unable to switch gamemodes with cheats off. So how did he manage to get in adventure mode if the mode was not changed by a game issue or an external tool?

If you can provide evidence that this is reproducible in survival (/gamemode 0), I would be happy to reopen.

Why did you change this to Resolved? Is it really normal that some blocks works as survival and others as Adventure? Is it normal that a world created as survival shows that it is adventure? I don't understand.

Comment by noname [ 27/Jan/13 ]

Yes, I saw this! So it's definitely a bug because I created this world as survival, never changed it, and I can break most of the blocks normally!

Note:

Level game mode: Game mode: adventure (ID 2). Hardcore: false. Cheats: false

Are there specific types of blocks with this issue? Also, please force a crash by pressing F3 + C for 10 seconds while ingame and attach the crash report here.
