 Description

When loggin onto a server with a custom texture pack, the chunks nearest the player are always glitchy. The textures of almost all blocks are replaced with textures of other, seemingly random, blocks (shown in the pictures). The bug can be temporarily corrected by updated one block per affected chunk, but will reset itself each time the player logs in. If it's any help, this texture pack is 32x32.

Texture packs are obsolete now.

Confirmed on Windows, Java 7, 1.5.2. Texture pack is 32x32 Docm77's faithful.

Happens to me on my Mac on DayZ IP: 2.mc-warz.com

Note: Does not happen to my brother on his PC.

I'm almost 100% sure that this is an issue only affecting HD packs. It's rather annoying, I hope it gets fixed soon.

Re: Texture animation definitions. I've checked the texture pack in question and for all of the textures that we have that are animated, those exist. No textures have shown up as missing, just corrupted.

The problem appears to be resolved in the 1.5.1 pre-release client for me however (still using a 1.5 server for now).

Update:
And now that I'm on 1.5.1 release client and server, it's back.

I had this issue, and corrected it by making sure there was a ".txt" file for all textures which have animations, including the clock and compass. This file is now required; missing it will cause the animated block to instead display "missing texture", and the chunks surrounding you will be glitched like above.

Pressing F3+A can also fix it temporarily.

I am also having this problem in 1.5 on windows 7 64bit with 64bit Java 7.

The graphical issues seem to go away if you leave the area and come back, but doing so can be dangerous as you have no idea what any particular surface you want to walk over actually is. Switching texture packs seems to resolve the problem as well, possibly because it forces a reload of the pack.

Forcibly reloading the current pack with F3+T seems to resolve the glitch.

It's possibly worth noting that the modified textures are 32x32 and many are animated.

I am still experiencing this with 1.5

Yes. Although chunks can be "fixed" by updating a block within them, on login, chunks near the player are also bugged.

Does the issue persist when leaving and reentering the game ?
