 Description

I'm guessing the changes to the chat window (the new options) are what caused it, but now when you sleep and it shows the chat the bottom is covered by the leave bed button, I didn't change any of the options, it's all default, it should be like it was before.

It is.

Shouldn't this be fixed now?

Even though the "leave bed" button appears to be in front of the chat, it will activate links/screenshots behind the "leave bed" button when clicked on.

still not fixed in 1.7.2

Comment by Sebi Saati [ 04/Jul/13 ]

This is still an issue in version 1.6.1. Anyone capable, please update the affected versions.

Comment by Matthew Messinger [ 22/Apr/13 ]

Related issue: It also covers up the health and hotbars.

Fix?
After checking the code, it seems the individual drawing commands have been applied a shift of 8 "gui pixels" up(?) (compared to what the code had in 1.4.7), but there is also a new common GL translation with 20 pixels down(?). Simply adjusting that common GL translation to a value of 8 moved the text just above the button.

However, maybe that change had some other reason? One thing that comes to mind is avoiding overlap with debug info... But then again, Mojang itself considers debug info as something that shouldn't be considered by players in any way, so correspondingly it should not be affecting this case.

(Also noticed that the scrollbar is drawn slightly incorrectly, but that would be another issue.)

Affects 1.5.

For reference, the "like it was before" means that at least in 1.4.7, the text area is located a little bit higher, just enough to have the button there without overlapping text.

Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.

Comment by Chloe Idun Anderson [ 04/Mar/13 ]

Hmm... I suppose that's true. The only problem with that I can see is that bug fixing happens during the snapshots, so if you don't report the bugs and keep them up to date they're not super likely to be fixed in the released version. Either way, my list will just automatically grab the latest released version, so if they release another snapshot it'll check for bugs not being marked as affecting the newer version.

Comment by Tails [ 04/Mar/13 ]

I think it's better to wait for the full release to ask for updates on bugs since not all people use the snapshots.

If it's helpful to the mods, here's the filter: https://mojang.atlassian.net/issues/?filter=12603

Comment by Chloe Idun Anderson [ 04/Mar/13 ]

Yeah, sorry, I should keep up to date on this. The reason I was going through like that is just because I created a new filter that displays all the issues that haven't been set to affecting the latest version, which is useful from a sorting standpoint because it allows you to more easily check to see if bugs are still happening without all of the extra issues that have been confirmed on the latest version.

Comment by Kumasasa [ 04/Mar/13 ]

Didn't get that. Sorry for destroying the punch line

Comment by Markku [ 04/Mar/13 ]

Dang. I was just pointing Chad (who was asking all around others to test and update the affects) that he isn't doing the same on his own issue. Oh well.

Comment by Markku [ 04/Mar/13 ]

Quoting Chad (but just on this one issue, I promise):
"Can we get a confirmation of whether this happens in 13w10a and an update to the affected versions?"

Comment by Kumasasa [ 06/Feb/13 ]

Confirmed.
