Thanks. Can only set 13w39b as fixed version.

This should be marked as resolved, since Arabic is already fixed long long time ago, in 13w36a it is I think, if that's the first Minecraft 1.7 snapshot.

So if we voted on MC-10426 and maked a lot of people vote mojang gonna fix the arabic language???

Comment by [Mod] Torabi [ 08/Apr/13 ]

As this issue is currently resolved as "Won't Fix", which prevents users from voting on it, I suggest that anyone that cares about it vote on MC-10426, which is the issue for the custom kerning Grum mentioned as a solution for this issue.

There Are Thousands Of Arabic Players Play Minecraft Daily And Upload It To Youtube , So I Think It's A Must To Fix The Arabic Language For Us , We Paid For The Game And We Supported It , So Mojang Must Support The Arabic Language And Fix It , At The End Thanks For Everything And I Hope You Fix It As Soon As Possible

Regards , Arabic Player

We're considering adding some metadata so you guys can play with that to get the 'right kerning' - not super high on the things to do list though (needs some extra changes as well).

Dinnerbone has told two people to post this on the tracker. I'm not sure he's aware of the resolution; it's possible he intends to fix it even if Grum does not.

Can you close this report and open this one MC-13194

Thanks

Comment by Tom Black [ 03/Apr/13 ]

The issue I believe is being reported is that the characters are separated when Arabic is displayed with essentially zero kerning (see the examples at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arabic_language#Examples )

It's worth bearing in mind that Arabic script is the second most popular script after Latin, so this isn't necessarily a "single language" issue.

It's a road without end if we're going to make specialized renders for each and every language that doesn't work with stand-alone glyphs.

It took me a while to figure out your problem, please modify your Description and Title to say something like 'Arabic text shadows have wrong offset'.
