I'm having the exact same issue. No problems at all in windowed mode, when I switch to full screen black flashes every 5 minutes or so. Seems I have the same video card the GT540M

edit

Looking through my log file while playing with settings I found I get the flash every time I get this log entry:

[06:26:14] Netty IO #1/ERROR: Channel became inactive!
[06:26:14] Netty Client IO #1/ERROR: Channel became inactive!

I updated Java and gfx driver, which were only minor updates. The flashing keeps happening. But it seems to only occur when I play with "balanced" in the video settings.

Your graphics driver may be out of date too, please update your graphics card drivers following updating graphics card drivers.

Please attach the complete output of the "Development console" of the launcher. CTRL-A, CTRL-C there, CTRL-V in the ticket.

@Tobias Israel :
Your Java is out of date. Please update your Java to the latest version: http://www.java.com/en/download/ . Keep in mind that when using a 32-bit browser on a 64-bit OS the

automatic version detection will only show the 32-bit version of Java, the 64-bit version needs to be downloaded manually: http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp .

I too have this problem in 1.6.2. Client is definitely not modded. I can provide a crash report, if necessary.

Comment by Kumasasa [ 16/Jan/13 ]

Your Minecraft is modded.

Therefore:

This ticket is invalid as it relates to a modded or 3rd party client/server.

  • Any non-standard client/server build needs to be taken up with the appropriate team, not Mojang.
  • Any plugin issues need to be addressed to the plugin creator.
  • This site is for addressing issues related to the base unmodded MineCraft.

I have updated java and it has not fixed it

This is the crash report. This happens only in f11 mode

This might be an overheat of the graphics card. Try setting the performance to Power Saver and view distance to Tiny and see if it still happens.

I don't have this problem. Have you tried updating your graphics driver?
