When I load my world and open it for LAN and my brother tries to join with his MAC he gets this error: "Internal exception: java.io.IOException: Received string length longer than maximum allowwed (18 > 16)". Does joining from PC to MAC and vice versa not work? We tried it with a "normal" WLAN via our FritzBox 7270 and with a private Hotspot over WLAN from our iPad 3 with iOS 6. |

I'm still having general problems like hosting a server on 0.0.0.0:[PORT]. |

Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases. |

@Charlie I'm on a mac and have been on a pc server. I haven't tried it with single player lan though, but I'd just thought I'd say that it does work with actual servers. I might be able to test this later today. |

I used the latest 1.4.2 Client, no standalone Server. |

It sounds like your server isn't updated to 1.4.2 |
