 Description

All items related to quartz in Minecraft have the correct shape but are white and have the words "missing texture" all over them. Refers to nether quartz ore, blocks, chiseled blocks, pillars, slabs, and stairs. It also happens with redstone compatators and hoppers.

Reminds me of the locked chest

@Adric Blake:
minecraft.exe is just minecraft.jar with a small Windows launcher attached. It's still a valid jar file and can be run in Java.

Comment by Numbermaniac [ 24/Feb/13 ]

yes, i noticed this too.

Comment by Adric Blake [ 21/Jan/13 ]

No, the textures that came with the game still don't work as-is, and should be fixed.

Comment by Anon Ymus [ 21/Jan/13 ]

Then this should be resolved as invalid?

Comment by Adric Blake [ 21/Jan/13 ]

I think I may have found a fix. I uncompressed minecraft.jar into a folder, then opened the affected PNGs in a simple image viewer (Preview) and saved (as). Doing thst seems to remove some chromaticity data and other image profile data, and for some reason, it works. It also works for the Book GUI, but I'm not sure as to why either. The affected files additionally seemed to have been make in GIMP.

Derp.

Um, .exe and MAC don't really go together. That basically is the output.

Comment by Kumasasa [ 20/Jan/13 ]

Please start Minecraft with

java -Xmx1g -jar Minecraft.exe

and attach the output of the console.

this happens to me with 13w03a on my Mac

The errors were in the attached text files. I open the file through the terminal because I like to see what's going on when I play. Also refer to the other closed topics for more info.

If you noticed a bunch of IO errors in the terminal, please attach a copy of the output so we can figure out what's wrong.

Are you sure of this? The issue does not appear in the 13w02a release for me, where the new texture system was first noted.
EDIT: Updated to Java 1.6 and my issue is resolved.

Comment by Tails [ 13/Jan/13 ]

The main problem you're having is that you cannot update to newer Java versions. With Minecraft 1.6 the support for Java 5 will be dropped anyway, so there is little chance this will be fixed.

I am running an Intel-based Mac (10.5.8) and having the same issues; this is not specific to PPC.

Comment by Adric Blake [ 12/Jan/13 ]

Also appears to be similar to MC-7225, MC-7275, and MC-7267.

Errors and other stuff.

Comment by Adric Blake [ 12/Jan/13 ]

I can confirm this, and I think this is yet another PPC bug. I noticed a bunch of I/O errors in the terminal (at least 18), and found in-game that many of the newer blocks had a missing texture for either the block or the item.
