The pressure plates doesn't work when it has a wood fence below (util to activate redstone and burn the items) and the items have a 0.5 block higher (fence) |

Well, you can say it but I've already made much mechanisms with a pressure plate and a fence below. It worked without problems. |

You can activate it you must drop item on the edge but, fall through the item. |

Nope, pressure plates on fences could never be pressed when ontop of the fence, only by standing besides the fence. |

Yes but compared to the version 1.3 I think, it can't be pressed anymore. In that version, a wood fence was pressed without problems with a fence below. |

As you already said fences are 1.5 blocks tall, so they cannot activate the pressure plate. They can however if they fall through the side. |
