Confirmed. It is especially odd with animations. This should be fixable, though. Just has to be fixed. Of course, this also applies to being held. It seems like it's trying to adapt the edge of the item to the normal 16x16 grid instead of adapting the resolution accordingly.

Edit: Added a screenshot of my test with a combination of HD and animations (Phoenix Wright objecting, sorry for the informality). The problem is very simple: It's just trying to render the edge at the normal resolution instead of adapting to the held texture. This should be easily fixable - it just has to be fixed.
